The gun has good penetration of 212 mm and accuracy. It makes no sense to talk about armor, since 30 mm in the frontal projection will save only from machine gunners.

  • High mobility. The AMX CDC has amazing dynamics for a medium tank, more characteristic of the light tank class.   • Effective 90mm cannon. A fast-firing and accurate gun with a comfortable aiming time and a good average damage per minute. It is noteworthy that earlier in World of Tanks this weapon was only available for French heavy tanks. The mobility of the LT plus the firepower of the TT are strong arguments in favor of the AMX CDC.
  • High armor penetration. The 212 mm base ammunition is one of the best values ​​for a Tier VIII medium tank. AMX CDC is capable of hitting both single-tier vehicles and higher-tier rivals.
  • Large ammunition. Ammunition for 90 rounds allows for continuous fire for almost 13 minutes of combat. Feel free to shoot at the positions in which the enemy may be: shells are cheap, and there are a lot of them.
  • Comfortable elevation angles. The gun depression angle of 10 degrees is one of the main distinguishing features of the vehicle. This seemingly secondary indicator significantly increases the survival rate, partly compensating for the weak booking. Using the folds of the terrain as cover, you will be able to effectively evade enemy fire while maintaining your vehicle's health points.
  • Low security. The tank has no armor, one might say. 30 mm in the forehead offer absolutely no protection. The tank is extremely vulnerable to land mines and quickly dies under focused fire. Caution in battle is the key to victory in this vehicle;
  • Large dimensions for a medium tank.

Sniper... The dynamics and excellent elevation angles allow you to use the most unexpected places as cover. Choose positions with a wide range of fire: this is how you can realize the strengths of your weapon. The attention of large calibers, especially artillery landmines, is contraindicated for the tank - therefore, carefully monitor the likelihood of getting into the field of view of the enemy.

Support... One of the most effective uses for the AMX CDC is to support groups of allies, be it heavy tanks slowly pushing through the direction or a CT assault group aimed at capturing a key position. Try to stay behind allies, firing under the protection of their armor. If you see that the attack has drowned out or entered the positional phase, do not try to butt the enemy head-on-head - back off and try to benefit in the other direction.

Intelligence service... If there are no light tanks in the team or they are all destroyed, then the AMX CDC may well try on the role of a scout. Good concealment and visibility indicators allow the use of "passive light" from the bushes, and high mobility will help to get away from enemy fire. It is quite difficult to catch such a raider at the end of the battle, and the AMX CDC has all the prerequisites to "drag" the battles in the endgame.

Outcome

AMX Chasseur de chars is a nimble bully musketeer. He does not need heavy armor that only hinders movement. In battle, he relies on his agility and sharp "sword", the precise thrust of which wounds the enemy and pisses him off. And when the enemy is already filled with a desire to get even with the offender, our hero gives the fight in order to return at the most inconvenient moment for the enemy.

Historical reference

This vehicle is nothing more than the response of the French tank building school to all foreign tank destroyers. An attempt to create your own car was unsuccessful.

So in 1946, it was supposed to install a 90-mm gun on it, it was believed that this would be enough to fight tanks. The undoubted advantage of this machine was to be speed, therefore, a 12-cylinder Maybach HL 295 with a capacity of 1.2 thousand hp was considered as a power unit.

Weighing 34 tons, the power density was 35 hp / t. It was the speed that was supposed to save this tank from enemy fire, because the 30-mm armor in the forehead was hardly protected even from the fire of anti-tank rifles, let alone the tanks of that time.

What kind of tank ?!

The main thing worth noting is the complete absence of armor, even if you put the tank in a diamond, we will not see more than 60 millimeters of armor, which means that we will accept land mines in the same way as other shells. When buying this tank, you should immediately pay attention to your level of play, since a tank can be disappointing in inept hands: we do not repulse shells and get to dozens. But everything is in order.

On the one hand, the AMX CDC can be called a kind of analogue of the FCM 50t, but on the other hand, these are tanks of different classes, but the style of play is practically the same. The most important thing is to avoid artillery, or rather everything that shoots with land mines. The tank is susceptible to frequent damage to the turret traverse mechanism, ammunition rack and engine, and this makes us play even more carefully.

AMX Chasseur de chars has two main advantages, these are
1. The 1200 hp Maybach HL 295 F engine, which accelerates our tank to 57 km / h - not every light tank can boast of this!
2. 90 mm AC DCA 45 gun with a one-time alpha strike of 240 units, penetration of 212 mm armor-piercing and 259 mm APCR projectiles and issuing about 2000 damage per minute. We also have excellent UVR up to 10 degrees down, and it rises to all 20.

If we look globally at the tank and highlight its pros and cons, we get the following:

Now more about everything.

At the start of a fight, the AMX CDC can easily take a key position. There is an opportunity to play using our excellent UVN, but the main thing is not to forget about the artillery.

One of the main problems, besides booking, is that we often get damaged ammo rack. Since the tank has a huge ammunition load, it is located almost everywhere, even in the forehead of the hull. And this means that every shot can tear off our tower and send us to the hangar to reflect on the eternal.

Optional equipment

As we know, the dynamics of the tank is our everything and every stop can be expensive, therefore we need to minimize the minimization time. The first thing we put in is the vertical stabilizer. Next, we will turn to reducing the reload time, which means we set the gun to send a medium caliber. The next module can be improved ventilation, coupled with the fighting brotherhood, we will get a pretty good bonus to the skills of the crew. This set is optimal for ambush damage.

However, if the full potential of the tank is revealed, the set of modules should be changed. For example, shine the enemy and shoot on the move. Then, instead of improved ventilation, it is worth putting enlightened optics to the vertical aiming stabilizer and the medium-caliber gun rammer. This set is optimal for a more active game.

Crew training

The choice of perks is as follows:

Commander - Sixth Sense, Repair, Combat Brotherhood, Disguise.
Gunner - repair, smooth turret rotation, combat brotherhood, disguise.
Driver mechanic - repair, smooth running, fighting brotherhood, disguise.
Loader - repair, contactless ammunition stowage, combat brotherhood, camouflage.

Equipment selection

There is another standard here, namely: a small repair kit, a small first aid kit and a handheld fire extinguisher. I advise you to use premium consumables, which are quite expensive, but can significantly increase the survivability of your vehicle in battle. So feel free to put on your tank a large repair kit, a large first aid kit and an automatic fire extinguisher. For better efficiency in combat, you can put Strong coffee instead of an automatic fire extinguisher. However, since AMX CDC often damages the ammunition rack, it makes sense to put another repair kit instead of strong coffee.

Tactics and application

There are three main battle tactics for AMX CDC. This is shooting from an ambush and highlighting the enemy at a medium distance, both passive and active, and support of allies from the 2nd line.

1. Stealth sniper tactics. It consists in using all kinds of shelters, bushes, and constant monitoring of the minimap. In this case, we play exclusively on dealing damage and maintaining our durability. If you have been spotted in one place, then it is not advisable to appear there a second time. It is important to remember that you have no armor, but you have maneuverability, and if any threat appears, immediately get away, as quickly as possible.

2. Illumination of the enemy at medium distance. Here you need to know the positions from which you can safely highlight the enemy. You can also shine actively, but the main thing to remember is: Movement is life! Never stop, even to shoot, because the dimensions of our tank are not very small, in size we are close to the E-50.

3. Support of allies from the 2nd line. Here it is necessary to correctly assess the movement of the allies on the map. Noticing active actions on the flanks, you should immediately go to support and, hiding behind the armor of your allies, inflict damage.

Outcome

AMX CDC is a fragile bully capable of upsetting an opponent with his sudden appearance. We can perform various tasks on the battlefield, ranging from a sniper to supporting a breakthrough of enemy defenses. Remember, everything depends on you. The most important thing is accuracy, but also do not forget about the minimap, a timely decision to withdraw can save your life in battle, and the longer you are in battle, the more you shoot, the more credits and pleasure you will bring.

From the characteristics of the gun, one should highlight its accuracy - 0.34 m / 100 m, which is 0.02 m / 100 m better than that of a regular gun, as well as the rate of fire - in the basic version, reloading lasts 7.3 seconds (damage per minute 1973 ), and in the variant with a gun rammer, fan and the Combat Brotherhood perk, the reload time is reduced to 6.03 seconds (damage per minute 2389). When using the consumable "Strong Coffee", the cooldown is reduced to 5.78 seconds, and the damage per minute reaches 2493. This is simply an excellent result.

The aiming time somewhat spoils the picture - as much as 2.2 seconds, but this is quite in the spirit of French tanks, and this is far from the worst result. Of course, such a time spoils the impression of the game a little, but when using the vertical stabilizer, this drawback becomes almost imperceptible.

The tank was also very lucky with its penetration - the base AP round has an average penetration of 212 mm, and the subcaliber round - all 259 mm, which is usually more than enough even if it hits the bottom of the list. Such penetration in most cases allows you to penetrate enemy tanks, simply by shooting at their silhouette. And in extreme cases, the gun has accuracy, which is sufficient for confident targeting of weak areas. So this tank cannot be called gold-dependent - it feels good on standard BB, allowing you not only to enjoy the game, but also to farm well (more on the economy below).

As for the one-time damage, everything is standard here for Tier VIII medium tanks - it is 240 points. So in this, the tank does not stand out among its peer-to-peer counterparts.

In addition to all this, the elevation angles are also pleasantly pleasing - the gun lowers down by 10 degrees, and rises up by all 20. This provides the necessary comfort, which is so lacking in Soviet and Chinese vehicles.

By the way, there is an interesting moment, which is pleasantly pleasing: the basic projectile has a high flight speed, which reaches 1000 m / s - this is at least 90 - 100 m / s higher than that of most "classmates"! So it is quite easy to take a lead when playing on a tank.

Armor protection: briefly about what is not

Yes, there is nothing to say about the armor of the tank. More precisely, there is something to say - it simply does not exist. There are only two things worth noting:

  • Frontal hull armor and gun mantlet - 30 mm;
  • Armor in the sides and rear of the hull and turret - 20 mm.

This is the very moment when, speaking of "cardboard armor", we are not exaggerating at all, but on the contrary. A tank makes its way by everyone and to any place, and ricochets and non-penetration are a rare event. So the line "Damage blocked by armor" in the post-battle statistics will always be pristine.

Therefore, AMX CDC cannot be played on armor - you can only play on gun and speed. Something, but the speed of the tank is.

Dynamics and agility

The second advantage of the tank after the gun is its dynamics and maneuverability. The lack of armor makes the tank very light (only 34 tons), which with an engine power of 1200 hp. provides a power-to-weight ratio of 35.29 hp / t! Just a fantastic result, which, however, is overshadowed by the presence of hidden parameters - the AMX CDC has increased ground resistance, so it does not take over acceleration as quickly as we would like.

But even taking into account the resistance of the soil, the tank can accelerate to a speed of 57 km / h and maneuver perfectly. This allows you to quickly occupy key positions on the map, change these positions even faster, and appear where the enemy does not expect it. Turning a heavier and slower tank on is not a problem. The main thing is not to start it on soft ground, otherwise the tank will get stuck and die.

However, there is also one nuance: the backward speed is only 20 km / h, which is in the best traditions of slow tank destroyers. And whoever plays on such PTs, he knows that when you roll back after a shot or light exposure, you can lose a lot of strength points. So it is not recommended to move in reverse on the tank - you only need to fly forward, causing damage.

Crew and upgrade options

It is not in vain that we have brought the question of the crew separately, as it is very relevant and difficult for it. One of the advantages of premium tanks is the possibility of accelerated crew leveling, but this is difficult to do on our patient. Although there is nothing surprising here, and the reason lies in the peculiarities of the French ST branch. Yes, for sure, there is no branch here, but in fact there are only three medium tanks, the crews of which are not fully compatible with.

In the very four crew members - the commander (who is also a radio operator), gunner, driver and loader. With D2 (III level) only two crew members are normally transferred, with Lorraine 40 t and Bat.-Chatillon 25t - only three (because there are only three!). So in the current situation, the tank should have its own loader, because there is simply nowhere to take it.

However, in WG, as history shows, they do nothing for nothing, and if they introduce a premium tank, which is inconvenient for pumping the crew, then this means something. And this is really so - already in patch 9.7 (which is coming very soon) a whole branch (or rather, two half-branches) of French medium tanks is introduced, and their crews are better compatible with. So in the near future the tank will acquire a new practical meaning, which it lacks now.

Tank advantages

In principle, we have already outlined the advantages above, so here we will only briefly outline them:

  • Excellent dynamics and maneuverability, the tank rises superbly uphill, practically without losing speed, which helps a lot in a successful game;
  • The speed is sometimes enough to spin hulking medium tanks (Pershing, SuperPershing and the like);
  • It is convenient to perform "swing" on the tank;
  • Comfortable and accurate weapon;
  • Large ammunition load (90 rounds);
  • Nice UVN;
  • Practically does not burn (therefore, you can carry not a fire extinguisher, but a ration);
  • Not a bad economy.

In general, this is a solid advantage. Although it cannot be said that this greatly facilitates the game - the head, tactical thinking and accuracy have not been canceled.

Disadvantages of the tank

Of the shortcomings of the tank, it can be noted:

  • Nominal armor;
  • Low reverse speed;
  • Strong dependence of maneuverability on the type of soil (on soft soils there is not enough maneuverability);
  • Quite frequent criticism of bookmakers.

By the way, about the criticality of the tank. There are practically no problems with this, and the removal of the BC here is not as annoying as, for example, on the IS-3. The increased probability of critical hits for other modules or crew members was not noticed, which can be attributed to obvious advantages.

How are you doing with the economy?

In our game, there is a rule among premium tanks (unspoken, but it certainly exists): the worse the tank is in the game, the better its economy, and vice versa. in general, it justifies this rule - with a comfortable game, it has a good economy, which, however, is inferior to the economy of the same FCM 50t, T-34-3, and even the new STA-2. For example, to get the same amount of credits, you need to do at least 500 damage more than on the above tanks.

The fact that the tank rarely has to use sub-caliber shells helps well, and even without gold consumables, it also feels good. So you can farm pleasantly and comfortably.

The tactics of the game are simple - you need to act on speed and weapons, forgetting about armor. The best thing is to act together with the support of one or two allies, although this can be very difficult - the speed of the tank just forces you to move forward, rush in, deal damage and run away. But usually rash explosions lead to a sudden departure to the Hangar.

On many maps, especially in battles without artillery, it is quite good to implement the UHN of the tank, play from the relief and inflict damage with impunity at the expense of accuracy. However, due to poor armor, it will not work to play from the tower in the usual sense of the word - you still have to hide behind the terrain and play the "swing".

As far as module assemblies are concerned, there are several options. The assembly that is quite standard for most STs can be considered optimal:

  • Gun rammer;
  • Stabilizer vertical guidance;
  • Fan.

This allows you to increase the rate of fire and DPM, which in most cases plays a decisive role. However, this option is not particularly suitable for playing at long distances, since this is hindered by the long mixing of the gun. Therefore, you can use not the rammer (especially if you have the Combat Brotherhood perk), but the aiming drives - this will have a positive effect on accuracy.

Patch 0.9.6 was released today and along with it some very interesting cars appeared in the game. We will consider one of them today. Meet the first French Tier VIII Premium Medium Tank, the AMX Chasseur de chars.

Well, many owners of the top-end ST in France will be happy if, of course, they want to buy this car. The AMX Chasseur de chars itself is standardly located at level 8 and gives the owners the following benefits:

  • The coefficient is 1.5 for the experience gained by the crew.
  • The coefficient is 1.1 for the experience gained per battle.
  • Increased ratio of received credits per battle.
  • Ability to land someone else's crew without a penalty. (Only with French PTs)
  • Elite status of the car from the very beginning.

You can buy this car in the premium store, and later in the in-game store. I will not discuss the cost of the car itself from the word at all. Let's just skip this point, but touch on the cost of the "gentleman's set". Initially, it will be necessary to install an add-on on the car. equipment. For this purpose, we will need an average of 1,500,000 credits. Later I will help you decide what to bet, but for now just keep this amount in your head, unless, of course, you have the necessary equipment lying around in the warehouse.

The second point is the crew. Since the car is of a fairly high level and is often in the top, its influence on the outcome of the battle is great. The crew significantly affects the characteristics of the car, so you can't expose yourself so much without paying attention to the crew. Initially, we have 50% crew and this is very sad. Personally, I recommend immediately using a crew with 100% mastery of the main specialty. There are several ways to achieve this:

  • If you do not have a French crew, then the best solution would be to immediately train it for gold up to 100% and pump it for future pumped French STs. It will cost 200 * 4 = 800 gold, and 400 per share in general. Well, if it's a pity / there is no possibility, then suffer with 75% of the crew.
  • If you have a crew from French PTs, just transfer them as premium cars are not subject to a fine. But here we will not have enough loader, so we will have to train / retrain a new one.

Also, do not forget about camouflage, it will give a small plus to invisibility, which means it makes sense to spend 3 * 80,000 = 240,000 per month. If the toad is still strangling, then apply at least a summer one.

Equipment

Initially, the car is elite, so its characteristics cannot be radically changed. Let's take a look at each module separately.

The gun itself is an analogue of the FCM 50t, but with improved characteristics. In fact, it can be characterized as quite accurate, very fast-firing, with a fairly fast targeting, but with average penetration and damage - a typical weapon for ST. It is more than comfortable to play with such a weapon, but in battles of level 10, and 9, too, there is a lack of armor penetration.

What can I say about the tower? Perhaps I will list the dry and obvious things: Large dimensions and a view of 390 meters is sufficient for a comfortable game. I'm not even talking about booking, because there is none, not at all. Consequently, playing from the tower as brazenly as American STs will not work, even though we have a good declination angle. You can play the swing from the tower, but it is quite risky and requires a good skill.

“Aaaaaa! I'm flying! " This is how I will characterize the engine of the car. At one time, we all dreamed of stuffing an IS-7 engine (1200 hp) into the A-20, and so dreams are material - exactly the same engine with a capacity of 1200 was stuffed into a car weighing about 35 tons. I also note the extremely low% of engine fire from hitting.

Perhaps, here I will similarly list dry and obvious things: 40 degrees / sec of rotation is more than enough. Suspension supports absolutely any set of additional. equipment and has fairly good soil resistance parameters.

The radio station has a communication range of 750 m, which is quite enough for standard maps. There is nothing more to say.

Advantages and disadvantages of the machine

Balance weight

The car gets into battles of 8 - 10 levels. In battles of 8 - 9 levels, we feel completely comfortable, but with 10 it is already quite tight. But do not forget that we are ST, sometimes we charge a sub-caliber one and, thanks to the dynamics, run away ... behind enemy lines =)

Profitability

One of the main, if not the most basic, task of the machine is to earn credits. The car copes with this just fine. Even if you shoot gold, the car will still be in the black in terms of credits. Of course, every shot should be placed in an apple, and not change the landscape on the map ...

Tactics

Well, we are ST with insane dynamics. It is the CTs and our task is to ride with other CTs along their paths. More precisely, to occupy key places and hold them until the approach of their CTs. However, this is how you understood it at this 8 - 9 level. In level 10 battles, we simply turn into support CTs with the potential to slip away to the right place according to the situation due to high speed. That's for the most part the basic concept of playing this machine. Yes, you can twist and rub against TT, especially single-level ones, since you will shoot them on CD, but here you need a skill. The car is very interesting, creative, I would say, but it needs hands and minds. To play it, I would not say that it is very difficult, but not easy either. If you want to easily farm credits without special and cunning schemes on the map, then take the T34 better, and this machine for the most part farms credits in an interesting way. It's really fun to play on it - it's not a dull TT or PT gameplay ... But, again, you need to understand and think. All this (understanding and skill) comes over time if you set a goal and analyze the result, and not go into battle for the sake of 30 thousand credits ...

Since the car has a 15% chance of catching fire, it makes sense to install something more valuable instead of a fire extinguisher. Personally, I do not see any reason to put gasoline, since the dynamics of the car is more than enough, but strong coffee will give an increase in performance. The rest is standard:
