Photographer Carolyn Cole reports on last days American troops in Iraq. This is what she writes: “When I last time was in Iraq in the summer of 2004, the country was sliding down a spiral of violence and conflict. American troops were battling militants for control of the city of Najaf, and there was every indication that things would only get worse. Returning to report on the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq not only gave me the opportunity to see the end of another chapter in military history USA, but also to communicate with Iraqis who have suffered during these long seven years of conflict.
