I acted, went to film festivals, got really involved in social life and didn’t give myself any opportunity to complain about what happened, feel sorry for myself, or discuss the situation with someone. My friends were out of it all.
- Has there also been an overestimation of men?
Now I can no longer talk about this in the abstract, because there is a person nearby. (Smiles.) This is businessman Alexander Sinyushin. I really value intelligence, especially in a man. But if you don’t feel anything in your heart, then why do you need this person? Just communicate. There are people with whom you can spend interesting time, and then return home happy alone.
Certainly. The only thing is that I have become more selfish and now I believe that people should be better off together than alone. There is a wonderful phrase: “It should be good with a man, but I can live badly myself.” It is probably no longer possible for me to fall in love with a fool (although he does not have to be Spinoza), with a man who is not generous. I can’t be with a person who doesn’t treat my work with respect and understanding. And, of course, the most important thing is that I have a very strong maternal instinct, and the man must have contact with my child. I understood this clearly. Ksyusha liked Sasha immediately. And it was because of her attitude towards him that I had the idea that this could be a serious, full-fledged relationship.
-Are you the same age as Alexander?
No, he is younger than me, but not catastrophically. (Laughs.)
- How quickly did events develop after meeting? Before you knew it, your heart was so busy?
No, I still managed to come to my senses. (Laughs.) Sasha and I talked for quite a long time. Now we have been living together for almost a year, and before that we met, had a great time, and, in principle, this could continue further. I liked this lightness - I am on my own, I have my own life. At least, a good life definitely continues. Naturally, some sad thoughts visit me, or rather, they slip through my mind, despite all my optimism. We are thinking people. (Laughs.) But I still have much more love for life. With age, there has become more awareness and responsibility for actions, inner peace has come, I see the connection between things. And I no longer go with the flow. I understand why I communicate with one person, but don’t want to communicate with another. Alena Alexandrovna Khmelnitskaya – Russian actress, who has played more than 50 roles in films and TV series. She is best known for her leading role in the mini-series “Hearts of Three” and several films by Tigran Keosayan.
Childhood: hats and the Bolshoi Theater
Khmelnitskaya (real name Elena) was born on January 12, 1971 in Moscow. Her parents were ballet dancers who worked at the Bolshoi Theater for 20 years. Father Alexander Khmelnitsky, having finished his dancing career, became a teacher there, and mother Valentina Savina studied to be a choreographer at GITIS. Later, when Alena was already an adult, her parents left for London.
Khmelnitskaya realized that she wanted to be an actress at the age of 10. Then she was lucky enough to watch the rehearsals of the famous rock opera “Juno and Avos” thanks to the fact that her mother was an assistant director. From that moment on, the girl had no doubt about her choice, and after school she entered the Moscow Art Theater, the course of Ivan Tarkhanov.
Her mother, a beautiful, well-groomed woman, was an example for Alena. She always managed to look great, and no one saw how she applied makeup, Valentina managed it so skillfully. She instilled in her daughter a love of hats. Alena remembered her mother’s black and red bowlers, in which she looked very stylish. Khmelnitskaya began trying on her mother’s hats and became so carried away that she began to draw sketches herself. Her parents prepared to send her to an art school, but it all ended with sketches.
At the age of 16, Alena got her first hat, as well as a desire to play in the theater, which arose after the girl visited her mother at work.
Early career start
In 1983, Alena played the granddaughter main character in the concert film “Karambolina-Karamboletta”, in which an elderly costume designer musical theater recalls his favorite operettas.
In 1989, Khmelnitskaya passed a highly competitive audition for Juno and Avos and received the role of Conchita. True, Alena did not stay long at the theater. Two years later, she left the stage for a film career.
In 1991, she played the main role in Vadim Derbenev’s detective story “Date House,” which tells about the fate of high-status married women who became prostitutes.
1992 was a breakthrough for Alena. She received another leading role - Leoncia Solano in the mini-series "Hearts of Three". The film gained great popularity, as did its main actress. Alena started dating guys at the age of 15, and immediately Andrei Dellos, almost twice her age, became her chosen one. The couple almost immediately began to live together, but soon Dellos fell in love with a French woman and left for her homeland.

In 2016, on the day of the premiere of the musical “Cinderella,” where Alena played the stepmother, businessman Alexander Sinyushin was sitting next to her parents.
