Functional and official responsibilities of the methodologist. What does a methodologist do? Job description of a methodologist

Many people have heard that there is such a position in any educational institution as a methodologist. But since methodologists do not directly contact either students or their parents, many simply do not understand what the responsibilities of this person are?

The one who helps the system work

A methodologist is a specialist whose responsibilities include constant and consistent control over the organization of the work of the institution in which he is employed, as well as maintaining all necessary documentation and conducting various events. In simple words, a methodologist is not just a cog in a large system of any institute, he is a key that ensures the smooth operation of the entire system.

It is difficult to imagine any kindergarten, school or university without a methodologist, because the responsibilities of educators and teachers do not include establishing the most ideal work schedule for each of them or finding a solution if suddenly someone cannot go to work - this is what the methodologist does, precisely thanks to his fragile organizational links are never interrupted.

Where can I meet a methodologist?

It is a misconception that methodologists work only in educational institutions, because, for example, large travel agencies also have their own methodologists; their responsibilities will simply include organizing the provision of services to potential consumers, as well as informing management and executive management about changes in the market for such services. That is, the functional responsibilities of a methodologist directly depend on the specifics of the work of the institution in which he works. That is why employers who are looking for a suitable candidate for the position of methodologist prefer people with work experience, because young specialists need time to study the intricacies of a particular field of activity.

But, on the other hand, it is much easier for a young specialist to learn the specifics of an organization’s activities, besides, for him, working with a computer and information systems is commonplace, and they greatly simplify his activities, but for experienced methodologists, learning software can become a whole problem.

Education

The job description of the methodologist states that only a person with a higher education in this profile can apply for such a vacancy. There are, of course, courses that also promise to make a good methodologist out of anyone, but, as practice shows, only courses are not the level of education at which you can count on a well-paid position.

It is much easier to take the place of a methodologist if, in addition to special education, the candidate also has a related one, which is directly related to the activities of the organization where he is submitting his resume.

Personal characteristics that a methodologist should have

The job responsibility of a methodologist implies constant monitoring of the organization of activities of the entire system of the institution and each individual person. That is, this is a rather difficult job for which not every person is suitable. There are a number of requirements, compliance with which is a sign that a person will be a good and reliable methodologist:

  • Attentiveness: the responsibilities of a methodologist mainly include monotonous work that requires special concentration. It will be difficult for an absent-minded or inattentive person to perform such duties for a long time.
  • Perseverance: a methodologist must devote a lot of time to regular monitoring of the system of compliance with all norms and requirements of the activities of employees of his organization.
  • Self-control: in real life it is almost impossible to control the work of a methodologist, because it is difficult to document or formalize. Despite the fact that the duties of a methodologist are quite labor-intensive, people who have absolutely no understanding of the specifics of this profession may believe that a methodologist does little at all. That is why he is also assigned additional tasks in the form of helping others with organization or documentation. So you need to have a high level of self-control in order to fulfill your responsibilities and pay attention to new assignments.
  • Be a creative person: since in educational institutions they also give control over clubs and various events “under the wing” of a methodologist, you cannot do without a good imagination.

What else should a methodologist know?

The modern job description of a methodologist also implies that he must have computer skills at the level of an experienced user. After all, this greatly simplifies control over the schedule of the employees under his care.

The job description of a methodologist also clarifies that a true professional must not only have information about the legislative framework that regulates the activities of his organization, but also operate with it.

Studying the most modern teaching methods and teaching aids is a direct path to maximizing your skills as a methodologist.

Career prospects

It is clear that no one wants to stay in one position for long. Is there any career growth for those people who occupy the position of methodologist? The answer is simple - there is, but it is not possible in all institutes where methodologists work. In large institutions, good methodologists very soon become heads of departments; for example, a methodologist in a kindergarten can count on this. But in a travel agency, managers become people with higher, often economic, education, because it is impossible to do without an understanding of the principles of the economy and the market.

The best methodologists are women

Although there is not a single document that states in black and white that it is worth hiring representatives of the fair half of humanity as a methodologist, statistics still confidently confirm that the average man copes with such responsibilities worse than a female methodologist. We have already discussed what such a specialist does, and it is clear from their responsibilities that they are more suitable for a woman.

A little about activities that are not related to control and organization

Many modern young people are attracted to such a position. In the era of computerization, most control steps can be automated. Thus, reducing the time spent on routine organization due to minor changes. But the opportunity to organize celebrations and events is already an interesting activity that is suitable for creative individuals. The job description of a methodologist also implies that he must engage in information work, that is, popularize the institution in which he works, which can also be considered a rather interesting activity. A good methodologist must be a diligent dreamer - two opposites in one bottle.

The functions of the methodologist in each individual institution will be explained specifically during the interview. After all, the specifics of the activity can be completely different; even experience as a methodologist in a kindergarten can be absolutely useless if you try to get the same position at a university, for example.

So you need to be prepared for the fact that you will have to immerse yourself in studying a lot of new information, rules, laws and norms so that the effectiveness of your activities is as high as possible; this is the job responsibility of a methodologist in any institution.

And a few words about payment...

A methodologist is not a profession in which you can, as they say, earn your first million. But this is an excellent option for those people who are satisfied with a quiet, cozy place of work and confidence in the future. The average salary of a methodologist will be about 2.5-3.5 subsistence minimums and higher, which, in principle, is also not bad.

So the profession of a methodologist can be considered quite promising. In addition, it is in demand in the modern labor market, that is, serious problems with employment will not arise for a persistent person with the appropriate education.

Methodist in kindergarten. Secrets of successful work.

A methodologist in a kindergarten is like a director in a theater. Development of activities, scenarios, programs - the methodologist is responsible for everything that makes a child’s stay in kindergarten interesting, educational and developmental. The secret of successful work as a methodologist was revealed by Natalya A. Loginova, who has extensive experience working in kindergarten.

ON THE.:“That’s how life itself decreed it.” She began her teaching career by working as a teacher, then as a teacher, head teacher, and methodologist. I had good teachers. Aleshchenko Natalia Ivanovna is an educational psychologist, director of a school that has “raised” more than one generation of creative teachers. Thanks to her, I gained confidence and gained knowledge not only pedagogical, but also life. Vasilkova Tatyana Viktorovna. A wonderful director of the children's center, who teaches not only children, but also teachers, inspiring them to act by her own example. I learn from her too. This is a kind of generator of ideas that she develops and implements together with teachers. These are the people who “forge” qualified personnel.

A methodologist is just a position. And the activity itself depends on the person who works in this position, on the environment and the desire to receive satisfaction from their work.

— Please tell us how scripts are born?

ON THE.:— The emergence of lesson scenarios is a creative process based on experience and interest. Nowadays there is a lot of available pedagogical literature, but what is right for you is not always described. Therefore, by applying your knowledge, taking something new, you can create your own. As they say, “everything new is well forgotten old.” Based on the lessons and knowledge gained, we create our own scenarios.

— Are there any proven techniques that always go well among children?

ON THE.:— Since the leading activity of preschool children is play, classes using play techniques go off with a bang.

Learning while playing is the secret to successful and interesting classes.

“A game is a huge window through which a life-giving stream of ideas and concepts about the surrounding world flows into the child’s spiritual world,” said V.A. Sukhomlinsky.

Conducting a simple classical lesson is not difficult for many teachers. But to make it interesting, using a role-playing game, a certain game situation, cleverly interweaving the threads of learning and play, using non-standard teaching techniques, through travel and secrets to come to a discovery, to find the “zest” of a lesson in kindergarten - these are the few win-win methods that They help carry out any classes in kindergarten with a bang.

ON THE.:— In my work I am guided by the rule: in order to have the right to teach someone, you must constantly learn yourself. Seneca also expressed this idea: “By teaching others, we learn ourselves.” Pedagogical literature, seminars, trainings, communication with teachers - all this is fertile ground for obtaining information.

K. D. Ushinsky wrote that “the art of education has the peculiarity that almost everyone finds it familiar and understandable, and otherwise an easy matter... but very few have come to the conclusion that in addition to patience, innate ability and skill, special knowledge". This special knowledge, which can be obtained at various courses, conferences, meetings, is a source of information. And also, now there is a lot of accessible literature, computer programs, educational sites where you can find a lot of useful information.

— What developments are you especially proud of?

ON THE.:- Certainly. In 2000, my book was published - methodological recommendations for working with graphic dictations, which is called “Graphic Dictations”, as well as a workbook “Games in Cells” for children, based on the methodological recommendations “Graphic Dictations”. In 2005, the collection “Games and game situations in the lesson and after” was published. A book addressed primarily to computer science teachers working with older preschoolers and primary schoolchildren, as well as educators, primary school teachers, students of pedagogical colleges and parents.

There are unpublished works on organizing health-saving education. And, of course, over many years of work, a lot of interesting pedagogical material has accumulated: the development of integrated lessons in computer science and English, computer science and fine arts, scripts written together with colleagues, lesson developments, albums of crafts...

ON THE.:— The use of classes as the main form of teaching children was justified by Ya.A. Comenius. There is a classic diagram of the structure of a lesson (lesson). Plus, it adds methods and techniques for health-saving training and a little motivation. “Motivation is a general name for processes, methods, and means of encouraging students to productive cognitive activity and active mastery of the content of education.” Motivation, according to psychologists, is the “triggering mechanism” (I.A. Zimnyaya) of any human activity: be it work, communication or cognition. Tangible, real, milestone and final success nourishes and maintains motivation. If there is no success, then motivation fades, and this negatively affects the performance of activities.

— Have you ever had any conflict situations with teachers or educators regarding developments and how were they resolved?

ON THE.:- No. There were no conflicts. My life position is this:

  • first: clearly decide what you want from life;
  • second: think carefully about what needs to be done for this;
  • third: go and do it, but remember: don’t treat people the way you don’t want them to treat you!

I believe that any activity is a flight of imagination of the teacher, his style of work, his skills and knowledge. This is welcomed and respected. More than two thousand years ago, Socrates said: “There is a sun in every person, just let it shine.” A lot of developments and manuals for “every taste” come to the aid of teachers. I try to create an atmosphere of kindness, mutual assistance, helping each other in relations between teachers; they share their “finds”, techniques, knowledge and skills with each other. This allows us to unite the team and make it friendly.

And then, there are laws and documents that you can always refer to when resolving conflict situations.

— We often get asked questions about scripts: who writes them, whose responsibility is it? There are certain training programs that somehow limit the “flight of fancy” in the script?

ON THE.:— In general, most teachers are creative people who, having program material, can write and develop their own script for a kindergarten lesson. No, in no case, ready-made curricula do not limit teachers. Of course, there are state programs approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation; no one has canceled them. And, if a teacher writes his own script for a lesson in kindergarten, based on the recommendations of some program, adding some of his own “zest”, his knowledge, then this only indicates that he is a creative teacher who wants to grow and develop, a teacher - a professional who possesses a set of qualities that contribute to the successful transfer of knowledge. K. D. Ushinsky wrote that “the art of upbringing and teaching has the peculiarity that almost everyone seems familiar and understandable to it, and at other times it seems easy,... but very few have come to the conviction that in addition to patience, innate ability and skill, Special knowledge is needed."

This knowledge is taken from ready-made methodological recommendations and programs that help the teacher prepare for the lesson.

Teachers working on the problems of preschool education note in their writings that when planning a lesson in kindergarten, it would be nice to think through the “highlight” of the lesson. “Each lesson should contain something that will cause surprise, amazement, delight of the students - in a word, something that they will remember when they have forgotten everything. It could be an interesting fact, an unexpected discovery, a beautiful experience, a non-standard approach to what is already known.” After all, a teacher and an artist, and an artist, and a musician, and a writer... And methodological recommendations are help for teachers, a kind of guide to educational activities that helps to properly plan and conduct a lesson

— And one more question, when do you have time to do everything? Many kindergarten employees complain that they don’t have enough time, that they have to write notes at home, that they don’t have enough time for their family. How do you manage to combine everything?

ON THE.:— Indeed, some of the work has to be done at home. But I'm interested. “We must keep in mind that “interest,” according to I. Herbert, is a synonym for motivation. And motivation is the engine of activity.

When you do what you love and know that there is a return, that someone needs it, you just want to “move mountains.”

And then, well, such is the profession of a teacher that you have to sacrifice your personal time to achieve success. Family, work, children, friends, shopping - where can you find time for all this? It turns out that proper time management is an art.

First, planning comes to the rescue. You just need to remember that “embracing the immensity” and doing everything at once will not work, you need to understand how to plan your day correctly. Well, some teachers know how to draw up an action plan. But you need to make a plan in such a way as to determine the priority and sequence of events. There is a method called the Julius Caesar method. It is a little complicated, but if you learn how to use it, it will be useful. This is, so to speak, a parallel mode of performing some operations. And in general, it turns out that there is no secret.

The more life is saturated with some events and activities, the more we value time and try to use it rationally, that is, we correctly plan our life interests.

The role of the methodologist in organizing the management activities of preschool educational institutions

In the modern conditions of development of our society, a preschool educational institution is entrusted with very responsible social tasks - to teach, educate and prepare for life that generation of people, whose work and talent, initiative and creativity will determine the socio-economic, scientific-technical and moral progress of Russian society in new century. In this regard, shortcomings and mistakes in the educational work of preschool educational institutions are becoming increasingly intolerant, in management education and in pedagogical science itself.

IN methodical the office collects regulatory and instructional materials published by governing bodies education and other higher organizations. This material is printed in "Bulletin of Education"- reference and information publication of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, magazines "Hoop", "Pre-school education" etc., including in local publications.

There must be documents defining the character activities of teachers: "International Convention on the Rights of the Child", "Law of the Russian Federation on Education", “Model regulations on a preschool educational institution in the Russian Federation” - and others, with which all employees of preschool educational institutions should be familiar. Regulatory and instructional documents are mandatory.

Can be presented separately teaching materials. This includes various recommendations of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, education authorities. Here you can see the work experience of the best teachers, plans methodological activities, working with parents, etc. However, this is not only the printed material that comes from higher organizations. Methodical recommendations are, first of all, material that prepares Methodist to help their teachers.

A recommendation is one of the ways a manager makes a decision and brings it to the attention of performers. It is used when it is necessary to emphasize respect for the performer’s independence in the work. A recommendation is not obligatory, it serves as advice, a wish, emphasizing the right direction in work, in completing a task. Methodist studies recommendations developed by superiors organizations, and based on these provisions, as well as based on an analysis of the work of his team, he develops his own instructions, advice, and recommendations for teachers of preschool educational institutions. This is how the material appears rubrics: "Tips for a teacher", “This is interesting, read it”, "Knots for memory"; problematic pages: "Your opinion", "Read, think, argue", "Very Short News"(WINDOW, "With a smile and seriously", "Learning together", "Advice from the Masters"- etc. The design of materials should be attractive, accompanied by explanatory drawings and diagrams, which can also be used in individual consultations. After familiarizing yourself with these written materials, it is necessary to involve educators in discussing certain problems and then expressing their opinions in writing. You can talk about how teachers used the recommendations in their work in the section "Two Looks at the End of the Week" or “Looking through rose-colored or dark glasses”.

In order to break the existing mechanism of inhibition in preschool educational institutions, it is necessary to find those levers with which one can overcome such negative phenomena as formalism and the passivity of many teachers and students. The main ones of these levers are the activation of the human factor in education, the development of the creative potential of teachers and teaching staff of preschool institutions. Modern realities, objective needs for improving education, upbringing and development of students determine the need for a sharp increase in the role and importance of methodological work in kindergarten, make scientific analysis and practical improvement of this work a pressing problem.

Today the real level of production methodological work in a preschool institution becomes one of the most important criteria for assessing its activities. Therefore it is necessary to consider methodological work in a preschool institution as something of paramount importance.

Vasilyeva A.I. believes that methodologist Not only good theoretical training is required, but also the ability to apply knowledge in practice. Without this, it is impossible to work in a modern preschool institution, where all work is built on a strictly scientific basis and is designed for a deep knowledge of the child’s psychology. He needs broad awareness in various fields of science, culture, art, and ethics.

Methodist must be persistent and firm, emphasizes A.I. Vasiliev in presenting demands. These qualities, which characterize the emotional and volitional side of the leader’s communication with subordinates, form the most important feature of the leadership style - exactingness. At the same time, it is necessary to combine high demands with sensitivity, warmth, and respect for people. The most important quality methodologist, she notes, is the ability to show flexibility, to approach different types of people, taking into account their characteristics. The face of a preschool institution is determined by the team of educators. And it is the leaders who create it, unite it, and transform it into an efficient creative force—the manager and Methodist.

Managerial functions of the manager and methodologist, Belaya K. Yu. divides into general and specific. Thus, the main general function of a leader, in her opinion, is organization educational process in a preschool institution. Common features include organization team of educators, uniting, activating it activities, target orientation, development self-government, control. Specific ones include improving the professional qualifications of educators, organization of methodological work, maintaining pedagogical documentation.

The performance of these functions must be clearly distributed and agreed upon between methodologist and the head of the kindergarten. Coordinated action helps managers overcome difficulties encountered in solving certain problems. Practice shows, says K. Yu. Belaya, that operational problems are easily solved. More difficult for methodologist is the solution of social and psychological problems, such as ensuring clear discipline and organization in the work of educators; formation of public opinion in the team; stimulating labor activity and the need to work creatively.

Methodist(from the Greek methodos - following something.) - a teacher who works on studying and developing teaching methods; a specialist in the methodology of any subject. The profession is suitable for those who are interested in psychology (see choosing a profession based on interest in school subjects).

Features of the profession

Methodological teachers work in different areas of pedagogy: in the system of preschool education, school or vocational education. The place of work depends on the specialization received at the university. To work as a methodologist, a higher pedagogical education is required. For example, to work as a methodologist in a kindergarten, you need to graduate from a pedagogical university with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Although it happens that a teacher without a higher education, but with extensive experience, becomes a methodologist. The official title of the position is deputy head/director for educational and methodological work (senior educator/teacher).

The teacher always works according to the plan: it outlines the topics, the amount of knowledge and skills that his students or pupils must master. The forms of work are also planned in advance: classes, didactic games, matinees, etc. (in kindergarten); lessons, seminars, lectures, etc. (in educational institutions).

A certified educator or teacher himself is proficient in various techniques, and he always uses them in his work. However, life does not stand still, and new methods and technical capabilities appear.

The methodologist tries to keep abreast of new products, studies them and strives to introduce the most successful ones into the practice of teachers. He organizes educational, educational and methodological work, stimulates the professional development of educators/teachers, provides methodological assistance to teachers, conducts methodological seminars, organizes open classes/lessons, monitors their work, etc.

For a methodologist, the process of cognition is never completed. This is a teacher of teachers and an eternal student rolled into one. Specialists from among ordinary teachers often become methodologists.
