Now the moment has come when I can write the promised report on the purchase of Nike sneakers from the ID series. If in the 80s of the 20th century someone had told me that such a huge company as Nike would make sneakers for me and for me, I would, at a minimum, just laugh in his face. But now it is reality and it is tangible.
The idea matured instantly after visiting the Nike website, and more specifically the NIKEiD section.
The mentioned section of the site is intended for designing sneakers for a specific client. As a result, you receive absolutely individual products, which will be tailored only to you, and I apologize for the tautology. The choice for design is not limited to one model; there is a wide selection of them: running ones, football, golf, basketball, fitness. Here are some of the models: LeBron, Air Max+2013, Flyknit Lunar1+, LunarGlide+5, Free5.0+, Jordan Spizike, Zoom Vapor 9 Tour, Free Trainer 5.0, Air Force1, TW14 and many others (the full list of models can be seen at official website in the NIKEiD section).
A huge advantage is that sneakers can be designed for both men, women and children.
Selecting a model to order
After a short study of models to order, my choice fell on the Nike Roshe Run iD model
The following circumstances prompted me to choose this model: I wanted light summer sneakers, breathable, not high, and bright. And the spring turned out to be hot (as it turned out later, I was right with the hot summer), hence the idea of thin sneakers.
I created an account on off. Nike website and began designing shoes. Before starting my work, I knew for sure that Nike does not accept our Russian bank cards and does not send its products to the Russian Federation. But I decided to postpone the solution to this issue until later.
For design, there is a large selection of colors for one or another element of the shoe. Be it the outsole, laces, tongue or the swooh (Nicky's wing) logo itself. After sitting for literally an hour, I developed my own design with custom embroidery on the heel of the sneakers. I apologize in advance, but I won’t post a photo of the embroidery sample, and I don’t think it’s that important. The end result is these sneakers:
Making a purchase
The design was saved, all that remained was to find someone who would buy this product and send it to at least an intermediary. Such a person was found and I am immensely grateful to him for the service he provided. I gave him the registration data from off. Nike website and he calmly placed and paid for my order. The further financial part of the issue was settled through the PayPal payment system. I simply transferred the required amount to him. The final order was paid via PayPal.
You just had to wait 30 days and about the same until the product arrived at the addressee, i.e. to me.
Around the world in 40 days
After 22 days, I received an email stating that my sneakers were made and successfully sent to the intermediary address in the USA. Why didn’t I use the services of a friend who bought sneakers, you ask? It’s all very simple - by that time I had some goods accumulated in the intermediary’s warehouse and, in order to save money, an intermediary was chosen for delivery to Russia.
Here a very interesting moment has arisen with the following content. Having spent several years shopping in foreign online stores and receiving parcels by Russian Post, I was always dissatisfied with the timing and quality of delivery of parcels, or rather, almost always, with rare exceptions. At the same time, very often my goods travel across the United States and the time of this journey to the intermediary’s warehouse is always clearly indicated, down to the time of day. This is what this prelude is about. The factory where my sneakers were made is in Vietnam. After they were done, I was immediately given a tracking number in my personal account and the tracking number indicated the delivery time from Vietnam to an address in the USA. And here, pay attention, the deadline was 10 days! It was a pleasant shock for me and for $12!
The parcel flew halfway around the world in just 10 days, and this included multiple sorting points.
A friend in the States was asked a question about this. He told me that they have automatic sorting and the process is lightning fast, provided that the final address is correctly and clearly indicated. And only if there is an inaccuracy in the address, then a person comes into play and the process is slightly, I repeat, not much, but delayed.
As a result, the parcel safely reached the warehouse of the intermediary company, where it was consolidated with my other parcels and sent to Russia. In terms of unit of goods and weight, the cost of shipping the sneakers was about $30. The parcel reached Russia in 19 days, which was a good result for postal mail using USPS Priority Mail International.
Receipt and review of purchase
At home, the package was unpacked and here is the report on the sneakers. The box is black, without the usual sticker with a barcode indicating the model and size. Apparently custom products are delivered this way.
The sneakers are great, of course. What I wrote about at the beginning of the report: lightness, breathability, and so on, all these qualities were present in the materials from which the sneakers were made. Plus, I ordered a spare set of laces, just in case. 
The NikeID service was launched in 1999. Initially, customers were given the opportunity within Nike id to create their own tennis shoe design from a limited number of materials and colors. Then, with the development of the service, it became possible to use 31 options for transforming the popular Air Force One sneakers - the buyer could already change the materials of the base, sole, lining, laces and other things.
Gradually, from a small functionality on the company’s website, Nike ID turned into a large-scale online service, providing great opportunities for personalization and creating sneakers with a unique style.
As for purchasing Nike ID shoes, the choice is yours; you can buy Nike id sneakers in Russia or have them delivered from America. Delivery from the USA with the advent of the Parcel service has become not only convenient, but also profitable, especially if you decide to order more than one pair or shop in different online stores in America.

How to create unique sneakers
To create nike id sneakers, go to ]]> official Nike website ]]> nikeid com and change the country "Russia" to "UNITED STATES". To do this, go to the very bottom of the site and click on the flag in the lower left corner. In the window that appears, select "UNITED STATES".
Once on the American Nike website, hover over “CUSTOMIZE WITH NIKEiD”
Then we see a drop-down list where you can select the shoe category we need: MEN (men's shoes), WOMEN (women's shoes), KIDS (children's shoes). Also, all possible types of shoes according to their orientation are available to choose from for modification.

It makes no sense to describe the entire process of change, because... each model has its own characteristics (set of colors, materials, etc.). So all further transformations depend only on your imagination and desires.
It is only worth noting the fact that in some models of sneakers, when the material is changed (for example, fabric to leather), the initial price also changes. So be careful!

NikeID Russia is not available. Unfortunately, the American Nike website does not deliver to Russia, and also does not accept Russian bank cards for payment.
Here two wonderful services Veles (purchase assistance) and Parcel (delivery from the USA) come to our aid.
In order for the Veles service to buy the model you created and send it to the Parcel address, you need to send these sneakers to Veles mail ( [email protected]).

On average, sneakers take about 2 weeks to make, plus shipping to the United States from the place where they will be made (China, Vietnam or Indonesia). In about 4 weeks, Banderolka will have the sneakers.

The NIKE ID service, available on the official NIKE website, is an opportunity to change the design of a particular model of sneakers or bags, making it unique. No one will have sneakers like these. The model is made according to your preferences and delivered within 3-5 weeks. Therefore, if you want to make an original gift, take care of it in advance.
The NIKE ID service is not available for all models of NIKE bags and sneakers. Some models can only be purchased in the design that you see on the website; the design of other models can be adjusted. They are the ones that interest us. At the time of writing this article, such models in the electronic catalog on the official website were marked with a special “Create your own design” icon.
In order not to scroll through all the pages with sneakers, you can do it easier. You need to select the “Shoes” category in the catalog; in the left column you will see parameters (filters) that can be changed, for example: size, color, for narrow feet, etc. And one of these parameters will be “NIKE ID”. You need to mark it, and you will receive a selection of exactly those sneakers, the design of which can be changed. By analogy, you can get a list of NIKE bags.

You can “collect” not only everyday sneakers at Nike, but also running models, football boots, sneakers for training, basketball, skateboarding, as well as the Jordan line. Sneakers ordered through the NIKEiD service are delivered within 4-6 weeks. Prices for customized pairs range from 7,790 rubles for Nike Blazer Low to 18,490 for Nike Flyknit Air Max.

I chose the good old Nike Pegasus 83 - a timeless classic and the nicest silhouette. I consider it a huge loss on the part of the brand that after numerous performances by Shia LaBeouf (especially the one “ JUST DO IT") there is still not at least one collaboration with this amazing person. It seems to me that this would cause excellent reflection on the part of the Internet audience, and a bunch of collaboration products could be sold on the wave of hype. For example, sneakers.
The look of my model copies the look of LaBeouf from his most motivational video. The black silhouette of the sneakers depicts the actor’s total black look, and when the sneakers wear out, the suede overlays become worn, just like Shia’s jeans in the video. Complementing this magnificence is the inscription “SHIA LBF” on the back of the sneakers. In the video itself, by the way, you don’t see any sneakers, although I believe that these are the kind of sneakers that would organically complete the look of this, without a doubt, great man, metamodernist, actor and just a good guy, Shia LaBeouf.

Prices may vary depending on combinations. You can customize both the lifestyle line, including the Tubular, Stan Smith and Gazelle models, and the sports direction - shoes for running, basketball, baseball, and so on. The cheapest pair of adidas Superstar will cost $105, and the adidas ZX Flux will cost $95. In 2014, the brand also introduced the Photo Print ZX Flux application, where you could upload your favorite photo and place it on your sneakers. The price of the modified pair was $110.

I chose the sneakers that I got, although they are interesting - a remake of 1993, now with a customization option. Original "first edition" crosses can be found on eBay for $1000-$1500. In the options, in addition to color, you can change the texture of the leather or mesh. One of the skin textures reminded me of the white noise background of the sadly failed Outline. So I finished the custom in a rather gloomy mood.
Vans
The brand, known for skateboarding shoes, continues its expansion in Russia in every possible way. But the matter has not yet come to customizing the shoes available in our country. If you live in Europe or the USA, then on the official Vans website you can choose a design for seven main models of the brand, including slip-ons, Sk8-Hi, Era and Authentic. Of the possible modifications, there is only a choice of color combinations and prints. The sole can be either black or white. Delivery is free, and the price of sneakers does not change. In addition to shoes, Vans offers to design its own caps and backpacks.

The Vans Authentic is a classic silhouette and an iconic skateboarding model dating back to the '70s. I chose it because of personal memories. I grew up in the residential area of Moscow Belyaevo, with quiet green streets and multiple clusters of gray and identical panel houses. Then it seemed to me that this area was unremarkable (now it is considered a conceptualist area thanks to the research of the architect Kuba Snopek and his book “Belyaevo Forever”). I remember how during the summer holidays the remnants of the children who had not gone to their dachas gathered together, we wandered along the street under the scorching sun and idle.
That's where the design I made came from: a little sinister and similar to the one in which I spent my childhood. I wanted to use simple, slightly Soviet, but at the same time conceptual colors. I also wanted to make small “secrets”, like a print on the inside of the sole, which only you know about. In the Vans editor, I really didn’t have enough customization, without using their classic prints, so I put the emblems on the sneakers myself in Photoshop, but it’s completely primitive - color block and that’s it.
In fact, I am a supporter of minimalism in choosing shoes - I myself wear this model in pure black with white stitching. But I wanted to do something a little nostalgic. I think my teenage friends would love it.
Reebok
The possibility of customization is only available in Europe and the USA. The company says that “Reebok understands the need for such a service in Russia, but it is not yet known when it will appear.” Reebok's customization app is called YourReebok - you can design both the InstaPump Fury (even the smallest detail of the sneaker can be chosen in your own color - there are a huge number of combinations) and the classic classic model, which everyone loves. The price also depends on materials and additional options.

I chose this model because I like things with a design that is difficult to perceive at first. It’s good when it evokes at least some emotions, positive or negative. In addition, this model has a rather interesting history with its appearance in popular culture (Steve Jobs wore these at Apple presentations) and its perception as a model for men 30–40 years old. They also take pride of place on stuffwhitepeoplelike.com. In general, a bunch of ridiculous facts that make this model attractive to me. Regarding the chosen design, everything is simple.
