Traveling with children

For children, regardless of whether they are entered in the parents' passport or not, a separate questionnaire is filled out, to which

If one of the parents has died or is missing, it is necessary to provide the relevant documents (death certificate, original certificate from the police, a copy of the book of a single mother, etc.).

For children who have reached the age of 6 and are inscribed in the parents' passport, a photograph must be pasted. Children over 14 must have their own passport.

Photo Requirements

The photograph must be in color, 3.5 × 4.5 in size, on a light background (including the photo of a child entered in the passport).
The face in the photo should be clear, large, only in full face and occupy 70-80% of the photo. The eyes should not be red.
Photographs with tinted glasses, artisanal photographs or photo cuts from amateur photographs will not be accepted.

A transit visa (single, double or multiple entry) entitles you to travel through the territory of Bulgaria to third countries with the possibility of staying in the country for up to five days for each entry.

Visa to Bulgaria

Contrary to popular belief, Bulgaria is not a visa-free country for Russians. There are several ways to enter the territory.

Since 2007, the Schengen Agreement has been partially valid on the territory of Bulgaria. This means that with a multiple Schengen visa (aka the so-called multi-Schengen) you can enter the country for up to 90 days within six months.
You can enter Bulgaria with a visa, and Romania.
The third option is a national visa.

The swimming season in Bulgaria is from May to September, however, in May and September it is not too hot. Our independent trip to Bulgaria fell at the end of August, we visited several cities - we caught rain, wind, and cool nights. From December to March is the ski season.

Flights

You can fly to the resorts of Bulgaria from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Samara, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and several other large cities.

On average, the price of round-trip air tickets in the summer starts from 7,000 rubles. But this item of expenditure can be quite small. One-way ticket prices from Moscow start at 1,500 rubles. And sometimes one-way tickets to Bulgarian resorts can be bought - attention - cheaper than 2000 rubles! These are usually charter flights, more often from Moscow and St. Petersburg, for which you can catch a ticket even at the height of the season. Also, such prices are found at Pobeda, Rossiya airlines and some others.

Where to book a hotel in Bulgaria on your own

Housing prices in Bulgaria will please you. In large popular resorts (Sunny Beach and Golden Sands), the price for apartments and small hotels starts from 13 euros per day per room. In other cities (Varna, Burgas, Sofia) you can find accommodation even for 10 euros per day, especially if you live away from the sea. As a rule, these are hostels, apartments or mini-hotels. Where to relax on your own in Bulgaria

The most important thing in Bulgaria is the sea and golden sand, stretching for many kilometers. Along the Black Sea there are resort villages, port cities, popular and secluded beaches. People come here for health: there are plenty of sanatoriums, mud clinics and boarding houses here.

Compared to other resort countries, eating in Bulgaria can be quite budget-friendly.

Transport and car rental

In the cities and towns of Bulgaria, you can use regular buses. They are quite inexpensive - about 1.5 leva. A tangible advantage of local buses is that almost all have open Wi-Fi.

Another good option is to rent a car if you don't want to spend your entire holiday in one place. We rented a car in Varna for two days. We were looking for a company via the Internet, and the best price is 26 euros per day. Usually cars cost 40 euros per day or more.

Here practically do not drink tea and coffee. From coffee, Bulgarians recognize only espresso (cappuccino also comes across, but much less often, you can forget the words "mocha" and "glace" altogether). Tea is drunk only in winter, and teapots are rare in homes and hotels.

Don't be surprised nudists if you see them on the beach. This is a common phenomenon in Bulgaria, and there are many nudist beaches here!

Choose a resort. The cost of living and meals in different resorts in Bulgaria is different. On the most popular ones, such as Albena or Golden Sands, prices are about twice as high as on little known ones. In resorts located north of Burgas, payment for all types of services will be an order of magnitude higher than in those located south of this city. One of the best places to go is Primorsko. This is an inland resort. Mostly Europeans also rest here. There are very few Russians here.

Choose an inexpensive hotel. The cost of living in different resort towns depends on the proximity of the hotel to the sea and the level of comfort. In Primorsko you can choose a hotel located just 30 meters from the beach. There is a smooth descent to the sea, which is undoubtedly convenient for parents with small children. The room usually has a TV with Russian channels, air conditioning, shower, toilet, refrigerator. Half of the rooms have a sea view. In season, such a double room has a price of 25 euros per day. And, for example, the cost of the same room in Golden Sands will cost you 100 euros per day.

To save on food, it is better to go to eat in inexpensive cafes, which are plentiful in the resorts. Even at the peak of the season, you will spend 10-15 euros on a family dinner, if you do not abuse expensive wines. You will not stay hungry, because. portions of side dishes and salads are huge. Dinner for one adult at the hotel - about 7 euros.

There are many ways to get to your destination: by train, by plane, by your own car. But if we are talking about an inexpensive vacation, preference should be given to the bus. For 24 hours of moving you will pay about 75 euros. If you decide to fly from Moscow to Varna, Burgas or Sofia, then you can fly with Bulgaria Air and Aeroflot flights, the flight duration is 2 hours 55 minutes. Aeroflot offers flights 6 times a week, and Bulgaria Air - 7 times. The average ticket price is $400, but there are special offers. If you travel by train, the trip will cost you about 200 euros.

There are things that you should take with you, so as not to give extra money for them later. Take the boiler. It will be of great use to you. If you smoke, then buy in advance and take a pack of cigarettes with you (depending on how long you are going to rest). In Bulgaria, cigarettes are very expensive, so consider this point in advance. And do not forget to take a first aid kit and a supply of water with you. Acclimatization moments can be difficult for you, so everything needs to be planned. Take your camera with you.
