“Having loved God, recognizing His great Sacrifice and His benefits, and also with reasoning forcing himself to imitate the Saints, a person quickly becomes sanctified: he begins to humble himself, to feel his lewdness and great ingratitude to God.”

You left your hometown as a very young man. He lived in a foreign land for almost forty years. He worked in a brush factory and eventually became its owner. You sought to get rich and got rich. Married, widowed. Lord, how many days there were in those forty years, and on each of these days you imagined how wonderful it would be when you returned to your homeland, to your old friends and began to do good deeds left and right, to the surprise of the whole city! In distant lands everything was hateful to you, and only memories of your homeland and loved ones warmed your soul. Finally the desired hour came, you sold everything and returned home.

St. John(in the world Mikhail Borisovich Maksimovich) (1896-1966), archbishop. Shanghai and San Francisco (ROCOR), the greatest of the saints of the 20th century, a wondrous miracle worker, preacher of repentance and uncompromising Orthodoxy, prayer book, theologian, strict ascetic, true Russian patriot, strict and loving archpastor.

“I believe that God will help me,” some say, but at the same time they try to save money so as not to experience any deprivation. Such people mock God because they entrust themselves not to Him, but to money.

If they do not stop loving money and placing their hope in it, they will not be able to place their hope in God. I'm not saying that people shouldn't have some savings in case of need, no. But you should not put your hope in money, you should not give your heart to money, because by doing this, people forget God.

The pages of the diary of the holy righteous John of Kronstadt for May - November 1908 contain his reflections of the last months of his life. At that time, Father enjoyed enormous popularity and reverence among his contemporaries, he was known not only in Russia, but throughout the world; Church recognition of his pastoral merits was expressed in his appointment as a present member of the Holy Synod. Despite serious illnesses, he was still immersed in an active liturgical and deeply spiritual life. But anxiety about the fate of the homeland, which had entered a period of military failures, and the society, which was losing the Orthodox faith and being tempted by heterodoxy, worried the heart of the elder. All this was reflected in his notes. One of his contemporaries called the diaries of Father John “a comforting spiritual testament” of Father to true believers.

Of course, we know that Satan's attempt will fail; The Church will remain the Bride of Christ even until the end of the world and will meet the Bridegroom of Christ at His Second Coming, pure and undefiled by an adulterous union with the apostasy of this age. But all Orthodox Christians are faced with the main and most important question of our time: the Church will remain, but how many of us will still remain in it, resisting the powerful attempts of the devil to tear us away from it?

So... some people actually want to be microchipped like a dog. They even line up for it. They have parties to do this. If this is not available to them, they are completely thrown off track.

I won't even go into the religious aspect of having a microchip inserted into a person. Let's just talk about the secular implications.

Some people won't be happy until everyone has a microchip implanted in them. Here's how it can happen.

In Rus', many icons of Byzantine origin received their own history, full of miracles, historical victories, and tragedies. Such is the Feodorovskaya icon, which by type of image is related to the “Merciful One”. Its patronage is not limited to any specific cases - it is truly a national shrine. They resort to her as a protector from enemies, the patroness of the hearth, in sorrows and difficulties.

Origin

The iconographic type itself is very ancient; its author is considered to be the Apostle Luke, one of the authors of the Gospel texts. But the origin of the Fedorovskaya icon is quite difficult to determine precisely, because there are several mutually exclusive versions. In any case, the image is closely connected with the princes from the Rurik family. The first mention of the icon in chronicles dates back to the 12th century. Here are the different origins:

  • The image was painted by order of Andrei Bogolyubsky. He stayed in the Gorodets Monastery until it burned to the ground. The icon itself later appeared in another place.
  • Prince Yaroslav ordered the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God as a wedding gift.
  • The icon was found by Prince Yuri in an old chapel, where a monastery was later built in memory of this.

After disappearing, the Feodorovskaya icon was found again by Vasily, the younger brother of Alexander Nevsky. Residents of the city saw how the image was carried through the city by Saint Theodore Stratelates (he had already departed to God by that time). Soon after this, the icon appeared in the forest on a tree in front of the surprised prince. This is how it got its name - in honor of a miraculous phenomenon. It was possible to get it only after a prayer service led by the local bishop.

The second wave of veneration of the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God began in the 17th century. The civil strife ended and a king was chosen. It was with this icon that Mikhail Romanov was blessed. On this day a church holiday was established in honor of the image. Since then he has had a special connection with the royal family. The first lists from Kostroma came to Moscow thanks to the nun Martha (the king's mother). Already at the end of the 17th century. a legend was written about the miracles that occurred thanks to the icon.

  • In fact, the Fedorov icon is double-sided. On the back is written St. Paraskeva Friday. Hence, apparently, a version arose that the image was painted as a wedding gift.

It is believed that the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God helps in organizing family life. People believed that a blessing for marriage in front of this image would definitely bring happiness. Many German aristocratic women, wanting to make a good match in Russia, were forced to convert to Orthodoxy. To keep the family strong, the princesses took the middle name “Fedorovna” - like, for example, the wife of the last emperor. They also prayed to her during difficult childbirth.

Fate of the icon

For a long time, the Feodorovskaya icon continued to be in Kostroma. Residents of the city revered her very much, as evidenced by the presence of a heavy golden robe: rubies, diamonds, emeralds decorated the frame, trimmed with rings made of precious metals. During the revolution, everything was requisitioned. Fortunately, the icon itself remained in the temple. She was even dismantled, for which she was taken to Moscow.

  • Under the frame, the front part of the ancient image, dating back to the 13th century, has practically been erased by time. The best preserved vestments are those of St. Paraskeva, written on the back.

Since the Church of the Theodore Icon was completely destroyed, it was moved to the Church of St. John, then to the Cathedral of Kostroma. After the war, city residents raised funds for a new frame to decorate the shrine as it deserved. Today the image is in the monastery of St. Anastasia. The revered list was presented to Nicholas, the last emperor of Russia, and was kept in Tsarskoe Selo. Now he is there.

What does the image say?

Although by some miracle the icon has survived to this day, its condition is rather average. The faces of the Virgin Mary and Christ are practically invisible. The composition is very reminiscent of “Vladimir”, with the difference that Christ’s left leg is slightly open. After all, this sometimes happens when a baby clings to his mother - this is precisely the moment shown in icons like Eleus (Tenderness).

The Feodorovskaya icon was of very great importance for the royal family, so its holiday was celebrated very magnificently, despite the fasting time (March). On this day they even served the Liturgy of Basil the Great, which means that vegetable oil and wine were allowed. The modern Church does not distinguish this day in such a special way; there is no relaxation in fasting.

The shrine is closely connected with Russian history, but it is also considered miraculous. Twice the temples where the image was located were completely destroyed by fire, but it remained intact. Another great miracle was revealed during the battle with the Tatars. The enemies who surrounded Kostroma could not withstand the radiance that began to emanate from the face of the Mother of God.

What can you ask for?

As the patroness of brides, the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God will help you find a worthy match. The choice of a groom should be taken very seriously - after all, a church marriage is forever. It is necessary to pray earnestly for God to send a worthy person. Wise parents themselves talk with the candidate for their daughter’s hand in marriage. If the father has doubts, he can impose a probationary period. Young people should not be offended by this - a real feeling will stand the test of time.

The Akathist to the Feodorov Icon should be read if a woman cannot conceive a child. Of course, you need to visit doctors, take the necessary medications - do everything that is in the power of the person himself. Leave the rest to God, be less nervous, because this also affects the future father. The Lord will definitely send his blessing to those who show patience and perseverance.

Prayers should be constant. This shows God that the person is firm in his intention. After all, sometimes time passes, and he forgets to think about what he recently prayed for at the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God. In this case, perhaps you should just be glad that your wish did not come true. Therefore, you should not be offended or despair if it seems that your appeal has not been heard. Most likely, the Lord is preparing an option that will please the petitioner more.

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos before Her Feodorovskaya Icon

Oh, Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, the only hope for us sinners! We resort to You and pray to You, for you have great boldness before the Lord God and our Savior Jesus Christ, who was born of You in the flesh. Do not despise our tears, do not abhor our sighs, do not reject our sorrow, do not disgrace our trust in You, but with your motherly prayers beseech the Lord God that He will grant us, sinners and unworthy, to be freed from sins and passions of the soul and body, to die in peace and May He alone live all the days of our life. Oh, Most Holy Lady Theotokos, travel and protect and protect those who travel, deliver those captives from captivity, free those suffering from troubles, comfort those in sorrow, sorrow and misfortune, alleviate poverty and all bodily suffering and grant everyone everything they need for life, piety and life is more temporary. Save, O Lady, all the countries and cities and this city, to which this miraculous and holy icon of Thy was given for consolation and protection, deliver me from famine, destruction, cowardice, flood, fire, sword, invasion of foreigners, internecine warfare and turn away all anger, righteously moved towards us. Grant us time for repentance and conversion, deliver us from sudden death, and at the time of our exodus, appear to us, appearing to the Virgin Mary, and deliver us from the airy ordeals of the princes of this age, grant us at the terrible Judgment of Christ to stand at the right hand and make us heirs of eternal blessings, may we glorify forever the magnificent Name of Your Son and our God, with His Originless Father and His Holy, Good, and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.

And just as in ancient times you granted deliverance to the monastery of Kuteinstey and the entire city of Orsha from heretical stench, so now deliver us from all spiritual filth. And just as you did not abandon the Monk Athanasius in difficult times, so do not abandon us faint-hearted during our sorrows, Lady, but give us all protection and consolation. May we, having been worthy of Thy most holy mercy, receive cleansing through our sin and correction of our lives. You are our Mother, our intercessor! Weak strength and cowardly fortress! You are our hope! Heal us from all illnesses of soul and body, grant us, O Most Blessed Virgin, peace and quiet in our lives. And make us worthy to see the Kingdom of Heaven, and the door of heaven, when the Judge of the Universe sits at His second coming, where all saints shall sing Thy All-Holy Name, and glorify God in the Trinity of the glorified Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and Thy merciful intercession, now and ever and forever and ever. Amen.

To the chosen Voivode and intercessor of our city, the good patroness of monastic monasteries and all Orthodox refuge, the constant prayer book to Christ God, our Most Holy Lady Theotokos, praying for the salvation and enlightenment of us sinners, we brightly celebrate and call in joy: Rejoice, unmarried Bride.

We magnify You, Most Holy Virgin, God-chosen Youth, and honor Your holy image, through which you bring healing to all who come with faith.
