Depending on how we relate to fate, the Wheel of Fate will appear either as a symbol of our dependence and helplessness before it, or as a life lesson that stimulates growth and maturation. At the event level, it indeed often corresponds to situations where we cannot do anything yet. We are at the descent of the Wheel, that is, our plans cannot come true: we will be hindered by traffic jams, weather, intractability of the object or other insurmountable circumstances. The Wheel of Time shows that the time has not yet come for us to take on this matter. Then the cards in other positions can tell you what needs to be done at the moment in order to get to the other side of the Wheel, corresponding to rise, success, and other unexpected turns of fate.

Job

Here the Wheel also symbolizes dependence, often associated with the monotony and routine of the work that we have to do. However, this is where the card encourages us to see an important positive meaning. The more this yoke presses on us, the closer we are to the idea that it’s time to take fate into our own hands. Thus, the Wheel of Fate can be considered a harbinger of great changes, which, moreover, cannot be avoided. And the more readily we accept this fate, the sooner we will find ourselves on the other, rising side of the Wheel. If neighboring cards show that we are already on the rise, it means that we move forward boldly and success, promotion or other victories are guaranteed. If it turns its falling side towards us, then this is advice to think about the situation, find out its root cause (“look at the root”), so that behind the apparent defeat and even dismissal from work we see the “hand of fate” leading us to a new path.

Consciousness

Here, the Wheel of Fate is a call to learn to recognize the need, to understand that the Wheel of Time requires us to constantly grow and develop. Without realizing this law, which, at first glance, does not necessarily concern us, we run the risk of quickly resting on our laurels. This is where the Wheel of Fate comes into play, confronting us with situations from which we must learn another lesson.

Personal relationships and love

Most often it is the preservation of the status quo, and we cannot do anything about it. If there is loneliness, it means that for now we have no chance of finding (or returning) a partner; if there is a “problematic” union that does not satisfy us, then nothing can be changed here either. However, even in this case, we must understand and thoroughly learn the lesson that this situation gives us, after which changes for the better will become possible for us.

Inner meaning

Your future is decided NOW. Take control of your life or be eliminated when blind fate chooses you.

All events - good or bad - have nothing to do with what you deserve. They just happen. If you like it, let them have it. If you don't like it, fight, but you will neither be punished nor rewarded in this situation. In fact, nothing depends on you.

We are all connected to the Wheel of Fortune. Some of us work our way up, others fall down. Some sit at the top, apparently not subject to the vicissitudes of fate. But the Wheel of Fortune turns for everyone, whether he knows it or not. For everyone, the result is pure chance, which in no way depends on the individual. The idea of the card is the exact opposite of Justice.

In both cards the person is treated absolutely impartially. However, in the case of Justice, the result is legal: you are rewarded according to your deserts. The Wheel of Fortune gives you whatever it takes - no matter what you deserve. Worse, the powers that control your life don't take you or anyone else into account; they don't even notice you. Essentially, you end up as an object on a magician's table, who throws you at random because he doesn't care about anyone but himself.

Tarot card Wheel of Fortune (wheel of happiness) teaches that there are things in life that no one can influence. You must realize that the Wheel is constantly turning and your life depends on it.

The secret of luck lies in the ability to use your mental, or internal, energy to control fate, and not allow yourself to be carried around by gusts of wind. Blind Fate doesn't care who wins or loses. She simply spins the Wheel. If you want to be on top, you must watch what happens to you in order to take control of the Wheel of Fortune.

Description of the lasso

This card depicts a huge wheel representing time, fate, karma. The galaxies revolve around this constantly moving circle, and the twelve signs of the zodiac appear on this circle. Inside this circle there are eight trigrams of the I Ching, and even closer to the center there are four directions, each of which is illuminated by the energy of lightning. At this moment, the luminous triangle is directed upward towards the divine, and the Chinese symbol of yin and yang, male and female, creative and receptive, lies in the center.

Straight position

It is often said that the only constant thing in the world is change itself. Life is constantly changing, developing, dying and being reborn. All opposites play a role in this limitless circular rotation. If you are clinging to the edge of the wheel, you may feel dizzy! Move towards the center of the cyclone and relax, knowing that this too shall pass.

Meaning of the card

Life repeats itself meaninglessly - until you become mindful, it will repeat itself like a wheel. That is why Buddhists call it the wheel of life and death - the wheel of time. It moves like a wheel: after birth comes death, after death comes birth, after love comes hate, after hate comes love, after success comes failure, after failure comes success. Just understand this! If you can only observe this for a few days, you will see a circular pattern appear. One day, beautiful morning, you feel good and happy, but another day you will feel so sad that you will start thinking about suicide. One day you were full of life, bliss, thanking God, and now you are complaining and don’t see why you should continue to live. And so it goes on and on, and you don't see any system. But when you see the system, you can get out of it. (Osho)

The Wheel of Fortune has six spokes, which indicate that every form of life has its opposite at the other end of the spoke of the wheel. On the wheel sit: a primitively made figurine of a monkey descending along its left edge; a tailed creature climbing up to the right; a sphinx wearing a crown with wings and a tail, sitting on top of a wheel and holding a sword in her lion's claws. The monkey going down the wheel on the left is headed for trouble, while the figure on the right seems to be going up to good fortune. These animals are depicted in the constant movement of the ever-changing universe and the flow of human life, while the sphinx, sitting on top, strives to maintain balance. The wheel of fortune continuously rotates and sows sadness and joy, life and death, good and evil, black and white, which means: in all elements of life there is positive and negative. The wheel is a circle without beginning or end, and from here the symbol of endless eternity and constant movement towards progress and change is born. The simultaneous ascent and descent suggests evolution and its inverse process in the direction of fate: a happy fate, a successful combination of circumstances or an inevitable unfavorable end, as well as probability and a predetermined outcome. The Sphinx sitting at the top signifies the principle of balance and stability, thanks to which we have the power to change our lives, although we move along the path of chance and fate.

Meaning in fortune telling

Fate. Luck. Rock. Exodus. Happiness. An unexpected happy event. A special achievement or an unusual loss. Climax. The final. Result. Nearing the end of the problem. Influences affecting the outcome of the case. Good or bad depending on the influence of other nearby cards. Inevitability. Possibility of unexpected events. The cycle of the Wheel means the movement of everything from beginning to end. Progress for better or worse. Progress. What was, is and will be remains unchanged as long as a person is in a state of readiness for an unexpected opportunity.

Reversed meaning

Failure. Bad luck. Broken sequence. Unexpected evil fate. Delay or conflict caused by unexpected events. External influences are not considered, which has an adverse effect on the state of mind.

Wheel of Fortune, also Wheel of Fate or simply Fate. In the Egyptian Tarot - Sphinx.
This is the first of the Major Arcana cards on which there is no image of a person at all. But there are many other symbols on it. In the middle there is a wheel decorated with various letters and signs. These are, firstly, four Hebrew letters that make up the tetragram of the name of God (Yod-He-Vav-He), and four Latin letters that form the word TORA - or TARO, if read in the opposite direction. Secondly, the wheel depicts the alchemical symbols of mercury, sulfur, water and salt. In the corners of the card there are figures of an angel, a bull, a lion and an eagle, symbols of the four evangelists - Matthew, Luke, Mark and John. Also in the picture there is one of the snakes that made up the Magician's belt, one of the Sphinxes from the Cart card (above) and Hermanubis, a kind winged demon, a bit like a dog. In other versions of this card, Ganuman, the monkey king, the cunning hero of Indian mythology, is depicted at the top, instead of Hermanubis is the cat goddess Bast, and instead of the serpent is Typhon, a monster considered the personification of evil.
In ancient images of the card of Fate you can also see figures of people: some are lifted up by its wheel to glory, others are mercilessly thrown down.
Everything in this world spins like a wheel, this card says. Everything changes and everything returns to normal. There is nothing permanent except your own “I”, but it also changes over time. Not everything depends on human desires: there is a certain chain of chance, an unknown game of Fate, an “uncertainty factor” that cannot be ignored when making plans for the future - not without reason. An alternative layout is always laid out according to the formula n+1.

Meaning of the card:
It seems that everything is now confused in your house too, you no longer understand anything; but in life everything repeats itself - thoughts, feelings, and events. The Wheel of Fortune is picking up speed: beware of interfering with the course of events, do not make unnecessary movements, otherwise it will blow you away! Strive for the center of the wheel, for its only fixed point - your own “I”. Stop and watch. Look at your problems through the eyes of an outside observer: this is the only way you will find their solution.
This card falls out to people who feel unsure of themselves, their abilities, and the future; in such cases, she gives precisely the advice typed above in italics: your only, most reliable support is yourself. Be true to yourself and everything will be fine.
When answering the question of how this or that business will end, or whether it is worth taking on, the prognosis is generally positive, and the advice is similar: do not change your principles, and everything will turn out great.

Inverted:
It means almost the same thing (the wheel is round - no matter how you turn it, the result is the same): success, if a person remains true to himself, returns to his true “I”. But there is one nuance: the inverted Wheel means the inevitability of change. If you are currently in a “dark streak,” it means that soon everything will turn out for the better. And if it’s light, then get ready for the situation to worsen. This is natural, and you shouldn’t be afraid of it: you just need to note to yourself that the streak of success is ending, and you will have to endure failures for some time.

For businessmen:
Just a sign of a transition from success to failure or vice versa.

The Wheel of Fortune reminds us that we are ultimately responsible for our own destiny.

The wheel never stops turning and we don't know what life will bring us.

The end and the beginning. Change of circumstances.

The Wheel of Fortune signifies the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. It is often depicted as a spinning wheel with various objects and people attached to it. The wheel is in continuous motion and serves as a constant reminder to us that everything passes and nothing lasts forever. Ultimately, there is no point in getting attached to anything specific because everything is ephemeral. We all obey the laws of nature, making our life's journey from birth to death.

Symbolism

This card addresses debates as old as time about the role of fate and will in human life. The Wheel of Fortune does not mean that absolutely everything in our lives is predetermined, but it reminds us that we cannot completely control the external circumstances of our lives. We are often tempted to blame fate instead of taking responsibility for what happened, but this card reminds us that we all have a choice no matter what the future holds. On a higher level, the Wheel of Fortune shows us that we are the creators of our own destiny, despite the fact that we are all moving along a path that we do not consciously choose. We cannot control the rotation of the wheel, but we can control our reaction to its rotation. The Wheel of Fortune suggests the existence of a connection between the phenomena of the surrounding world and the dynamics of our internal state. If we can understand our role in the processes or situations in which we take part, then we will not rely on the mercy of fate, but will arrange our lives ourselves.

Interpretation

This card announces the beginning of a new stage of life. You are opening a new chapter in life, and it is up to you whether it will be a negative or positive experience in your life. You may be faced with a turn of events that you cannot foresee and which you cannot influence, or you will have to make an important decision. The more ability you have to make the right choice, the better armed you will be in the face of fate. The Wheel of Fortune reminds you that changes in your life are inevitable, otherwise it will become stagnant, which will lead to the cessation of your growth and development of your potential abilities. Perhaps you are at a stage in your journey when it is better to go down and then storm the top with renewed vigor. On the other hand, this can be a very positive moment in your life, which will allow you to say goodbye to the past and boldly move forward.

Everything goes, everything returns, the wheel of existence rotates forever.

Everything dies and blossoms again, everything is separated, we all greet each other again, the wheel of being remains forever faithful.

Friedrich Nietzsche

Description of the card and its internal meaning
The Tenth Arcana marks the line between Eternal Light and Eternal Movement. It is on this edge that all existing worlds collide. The Fortune card can be seen as a synthesis of this encounter.

Looking at it, you can imagine a huge wheel hanging in the air and rotating at breakneck speed. This is a symbol of the Universe, which is endlessly created and destroyed again. Humanity is generally motionless, but it lives in its changing parts: some people die, and others come in their place to follow the same eternal path of development. Humanity is a reality of existence that exists due to the eternal circulation of its components.

We are all, to one degree or another, connected with the Wheel, or more precisely, with the whims of Fortune. Some of us work our way up, others slide down. Others are at the top of this wheel and do not seem to be subject to the vicissitudes of fate. But one way or another there come moments when the Wheel of Fortune turns for everyone. The result of such a turn is pure chance, which does not depend in any way on the individual. The forces that dominate our lives do not take into account our karmic achievements and earthly achievements; in fact, they do not even notice us.

Connection of the card with other occult sciences
The Tenth Arcana, like the rest of the Major Arcana cards, is associated with other mystical teachings. The only thing I would like to draw attention to is that the Wheel of Fortune card is ruled by Jupiter, the planet of unexpected luck and success.

(yod) - He regulates every phase of heaven and our lives,
Letter - K, number - 10,
Ruled by the planet - Jupiter,
Correspondence according to the Book of Changes - 24 hexagram (“Turning Point”),
Correspondence to runes - rune Raidho (Raido),
Time of day - day,
Weather conditions - windy,
The corresponding color is purple (white),
The corresponding chakra is Sahasrara Satya (crown chakra),
According to Kabbalah, it connects the sephira Hesed with the sephira Netzach.

Card meaning
Straight position
It is unlikely that any of you will associate the tenth Arcana with a person. Nevertheless, this happens. In rare cases, this card can describe not only a situation, but also a person. Then we can say that such a person will radically change the life of the Questioner or influence the situation in which he finds himself.

In most cases, the tenth Arcanum has the following meanings: success and unexpected luck (remember the planet that rules the Fortune card), victory, the smile of Fate, happiness. The card speaks of events that the Questioner cannot influence.

Inverted position
In this position, Arcan warns of a meeting with an unfriendly person, in whose hands all the “life threads” of the Questioner will be concentrated and who will use his power over circumstances for selfish and destructive purposes for the Questioner. The situation will be aggravated by the fact that the Questioner himself will not be able to do anything about it.

When interpreting a situation, the tenth Arcana in an inverted position also has unfavorable meanings, as is the case with the description of a person. He talks about negative changes in life, about global losses and unnecessary gains, about the collapse and failure of plans, about unexpected blows of Fate.

“The events that happen in your life can be either good or bad, but it is impossible to change them or somehow influence their course. You can only rely on the favor of Fortune.”

Wheel of Fortune - a card of change. It indicates the beginning of a new cycle. You are not the same you who entered middle school a few years ago, or even the same you who got out of bed this morning. Life is constantly changing, so it is very important not to get too bogged down in current problems. They will pass, and new challenges thrown by life will take their place. Nothing stays the same. It often happens that a misfortune turns out to be a blessing from the point of view that you come to several years after the misfortune. The circle in the center of the map shows that life is a cycle of events that, in a sense, constantly repeat themselves. Think about the changing seasons, how youth gives way to old age, and then to the youth of the next generation. The old gives birth to the new and leaves, giving the latter a place to live. Some people believe that this card means karma - you reap what you sow. Others believe that the card symbolizes accepting life as continuous change. We are unable to destroy variability, we cannot create absolute constancy - this is how the world works. But we can tune in to changes, embrace them and enjoy them.

Questions to ask yourself when drawing the Wheel of Fortune
  • What cycle are you starting or ending - the school year, or your birthday approaching, or something else?
  • Are you satisfied with the changes taking place? How well do you deal with them?
  • Do your moods change often? Do you experience a lot of emotional ups and downs in a short time?
  • What causes a sharp turn in your life?
  • Have you suffered from the consequences of what you did in the past?
  • Could you adapt to change like the rhythm of music? What is needed for this?

Description

Everything flows, everything changes in this life. Following the gloomy desert of the ninth Arcanum, the rainbow multicolor of the tenth Arcanum appears. The bright garnet color is a symbol of the holiday, three beautiful goddesses are present on it, and an enchanting wheel rapidly rotating in the center.

No one controls the wheel and cannot influence its rotation, it is not supported by anything and is not connected to anything, its movement has no beginning and end. Like a rainbow, it has no density, but it is impossible not to notice. The six spokes of the wheel curved in motion are reminiscent of the six worlds of Samsara, within which all living things revolve. This is the “Wheel of Fortune” - a symbol of luck and chance, the fickleness of life, in which a light streak gives way to a dark one and vice versa. It throws a person up and down, not caring at all about his desires or merits. Maat has no power here. The result of the rotation is pure chance, which does not depend in any way on the individual. It is not for nothing that two people clinging to a wheel practically do not differ from each other, only in the colors of their clothes - blue and green (dream and hope). The forces influencing your life do not take into account not only you, but no one at all, they simply do not notice you.

However, the rotation of the wheel is closely watched by three great goddesses. They cannot influence or change his movement, but they are always ready to support you if you fall into the abyss of failure, or to flick you on the nose if you get too high. No wonder all three goddesses had the title “Eye of Ra”. These are the kite Nekhbet, the snake Wadjet and the lioness Sekhmet.

Mythological dossier

Nekhbet was considered a symbol of Upper Egypt and the personification of the power of the pharaoh. Ensured victory over enemies. She was the patroness of gold and silver mining. She was revered as the mistress of the eastern desert. Helped during childbirth. It was called "white from Nekhen". Identified with Uto and Sekhmet.

Wadjet (Uto) - “Green” - guardian of Ra and Pharaoh, patroness of Lower Egypt. The fire-breathing snake Uto has witchcraft powers; with the fire of its breath it burns enemies or prolongs life. “Green” promoted the growth of plants, protected the baby Horus, hidden in the thickets of papyrus, from the machinations of Seth. Identified with Nekhbet and Sekhmet.

Sekhmet, together with Uto and Nekhbet, was considered the patroness of power and the guardian of Ra and the pharaoh. (For more details about it, see the description of the Arcana “Strength”.)

Value in the layout
In a straight position

The Wheel of Fortune is considered a card of good omens and good changes. The beginning of a new cycle of life, a symbol of progress, success, improvement of yourself and everything that surrounds you. Unexpected and very important events may occur. Sometimes it predicts an unexpected smile of fate: it can be a reward or the emergence of new opportunities. Good luck and big profits lie ahead of you. Your wheel of Fate has now turned in a positive direction.

Represents a lucky person, capable of risky actions.

Advice. You should not interfere with the course of events, and in general during this period do not make unnecessary movements, otherwise you will be carried away by the current! The Wheel of Fortune is gaining momentum.

In an inverted position

The card means continuing to wait for changes for the better. Changes will happen, but after a long time. There may be extra acquisitions that drag down your pocket, bad luck, failure, problems. Figuratively speaking, the wheel is going down.

There are delays and obstacles in the implementation of plans, a piling up of old problems and, as a result, failure and changes for the worse.

Shows a person who relies too much on a lucky break, who wants to get a lot at once and without extra effort.

Advice. When Fortune turns you upside down, strive for the center of the wheel, for its only fixed point - your own “I”.

The Wheel of Fortune teaches that there are things in life that no one - neither you, nor even blind fate - can influence.

The Wheel of Fortune, or The Wheel of Fortune, corresponds to the number ten and the Hebrew letter yod.

Allegory

Chance. Blind fate. A situation over which you have no control.

Description

In most decks, the Wheel axle is supported by two supports. In some decks, the Wheel is depicted on the edge of a cliff. There are usually three figures on or near the Wheel: one on the top, one on the ascending side, and the third on the descending side. In some decks, the figure on the downward side falls off the Wheel and falls into the abyss. The figures can represent humans or animals. In the latter case, these are some symbolic figures, such as a sphinx or dressed ape-like creatures. The figure on top of the Wheel looks significant - wearing a crown, holding a sword, or clearly celebrating a victory.

In some decks, the Wheel is shown separately on the card, although it is obvious that it is spinning. In others, the Wheel is turned by a blinded young woman. Note that not one of the figures on the Wheel, even those falling into the abyss, notices it. In fact, no one, including the blinded woman, watches the Wheel and controls its rotation.

Occasionally, the Wheel is depicted simply as a disk with letters or symbols inscribed around it against the sky. In such cases, in addition to the three figures associated with the Wheel, there are four more symbolic figures in the corners of the card: above - a man and a griffin, below - a lion and a bull. All four figures are winged.

Inner meaning

We are all connected to the Wheel of Fortune. Some of us work our way up, others fall down. Some sit at the top, apparently not subject to the vicissitudes of fate. But the Wheel turns for everyone, whether he knows it or not. For everyone, the result is pure chance, which in no way depends on the individual. The idea of the card is the exact opposite of Justice (Eighth Arcana).

The tenth Arcanum teaches that there are things in life that no one can influence. You must realize that the Wheel is constantly turning and your life depends on it.

If you want to succeed, you will have to fight to master the uncontrollable, to force Fate to give you a choice whether you deserve it or not.

The secret of luck lies in the ability to use your mental, or internal, energy to control fate, and not allow yourself to be carried around by gusts of wind. Blind Fate doesn't care who wins or loses. She simply spins the Wheel. If you want to be on top, you must monitor what is happening to you in order to take control of the Wheel of Fortune.

Astrological meaning:
Saturn as the lord of time and mentor.
WHEEL OF DESTINY

Room. Four people are sitting at a round table. A seance is underway...

There are no foreign objects visible in the room, attention is focused on the table. In spiritualism, during a session, the so-called “table turning” occurs, when the summoned spirit manifests itself by turning the table on which the participants of the session hold their hands.
There is no Ouija board. This means that these are either amateurs, and this is their first test of strength, or the participants plan to communicate with the spirit through simple questions that can be answered by knocking or clapping. What prompted people to do such an activity was curiosity, or maybe a passionate desire to find out the answer to any question. In any case, the activity is exciting, all the characters are focused and involved in the process, tension and concentration are felt. I wonder who their medium is? It seems to me that this is a man in red - he has a prepossessing muzzle..

Characteristics: this is a person, firstly, who is not afraid to take risks (the church, for example, believes that this is not an appeal to the spirits of the dead, but direct communication with demons); secondly, brave (probably not everyone would dare to communicate with the dead, even incorporeal ones), ready to dive into the unknown, into new impressions. This is a person who is not afraid to stand out from the crowd or go against it. Loves to indulge his desires and whims. For him, risk is the salt of life; without risk, life becomes insipid and boring. Need adrenaline. This person is a keen adventurous person who can sometimes put everything on the line for the sake of satisfying curiosity or momentary gain.; reckless, acts as he pleases, without thinking about the quality of his actions or the consequences.

Business: gambling, casinos, sweepstakes, betting; risky business and risky steps in it; decision-making (in the absence of material gain) is based on the desire to try one’s strength and try one’s luck; in other cases, decisions are based on the thirst for easy money. Professions: all professions associated with risk - gambling professions, stuntmen, mediums, etc. Surrounded by negative cards, it shows the presence of “card (gambling)” debts.

Health: risky steps in measures to improve health; non-standard and exotic methods of treatment, which can be based on the phrase “let’s try, maybe it will help.” Letting the disease take its course, maybe you'll get lucky; Surrounded by negative cards, it can show accidents and injuries (both physical and mental)

Relationships: a person does not particularly consider the feelings of another; often gets involved in risky ventures, the consequences of which ricochet through the family; A person does not think about the quality of actions in relation to his half, acts as he pleases, and not as is acceptable (with all that ensues from this)

Advice: you have to take a risk, because the game is worth the candle

Warning: Don't take risks - the stakes are too high

Characteristic: this is a person, firstly, who is not afraid to take risks (the church, for example, believes that this is not an appeal to the spirits of the dead, but direct communication with demons); secondly, brave (probably not everyone would dare to communicate with the dead, even incorporeal ones), ready to dive into the unknown, into new impressions.

Business: gambling business, casinos, sweepstakes, betting; risky business and risky steps in it; decision-making (in the absence of material gain) is based on the desire to try one’s strength and try one’s luck; in other cases, decisions are based on the thirst for easy money. Professions: all professions associated with risk - gambling professions, stuntmen, mediums, etc. Surrounded by negative cards, it shows the presence of “card (gambling)” debts.

Health: taking risky steps in efforts to improve health; non-standard and exotic methods of treatment, which can be based on the phrase “let’s try, maybe it will help.” Letting the disease take its course, maybe you'll get lucky; Surrounded by negative cards, it can show accidents and injuries (both physical and mental).

Relationship: a person does not particularly consider the feelings of another; often gets involved in risky ventures, the consequences of which ricochet through the family; A person does not think about the quality of actions in relation to his half, he acts as he pleases, and not as is acceptable (with all that ensues from this).

Advice: you have to take a risk, because the game is worth the candle.

Warning: don't take risks - the stakes are too high.

“Everything that happens is your destiny, and it smiles at you!” Everything happens according to the will of fate and everything is a gift of fate.

The appearance of a card indicates that a person’s future is being decided NOW, BUT NOT BY HIMSELF AT ALL. This is a turning point in life, whether we like it or not. The Tenth Arcana, appearing in a reading, can remind you that the situation, whatever it may be, good or bad, will change sooner or later, and right now the Wheel of Fate is picking up speed. Traditional meanings of the card are success, luck, happiness.

The card indicates that something will happen that we can hardly control and which we could not foresee. The appearance of the Wheel of Fortune is an indication that life has become dynamic, which must be taken philosophically (and neighboring cards can tell you where things are headed). But no matter what it leads to, we are usually not talking about the result of any conscious effort. You may be completely undeservedly lucky - this card predicts an unexpected smile from fate. However, in order to be lucky one day, you must dare (“Fortune favors the brave”).

To some, the Wheel of Fortune seems “unfair”, but in fact it is just another kind of justice - the accounts are added up at a level at which we cannot clearly compare cause and effect. What happens on the Wheel of Fortune seems to us to be an accident - lucky or fatal - but in reality there is nothing accidental here. Personifying Fate itself, the Wheel of Fortune has such a power of karmic resolution that seems incomprehensible to us. Therefore, from our human point of view, the card rather speaks of Luck and Luck, of happy unexpected opportunities, than of direct merit and the result of conscious work.

An unexpected happy event. Luck, success, luck, a chance that is given perhaps once in a lifetime and not at all by chance. An unpredictable, fateful turn of events. Victory, successful overcoming of obstacles.

Some authors believe that the Wheel of Fortune simply signals the forces influencing the situation, while other cards in the layout show what these forces are and where the wheel turns, up or down. Or, if the general situation in which a person is currently located is unfavorable, then the cards in other positions can suggest what needs to be done at that moment in order to get to the other side of the Wheel, corresponding to uplift and success. But here we still shouldn’t overestimate our ability to “spin” this wheel and direct its movement.

Perhaps we can agree that the interpretation of the Wheel of Fortune greatly depends on the surrounding cards in the layout, but there is also no consensus here. Some believe that, surrounded by negative and threatening cards, it reports unexpected changes for the worse, a person has missed something and luck is ready to turn away from him. But sometimes this meaning is rather attributed to an inverted card, and in an upright position the Wheel of Fortune remains “luck” - at least in the sense that it will get you out of all the troubles that are described by other cards.

This card is associated with everything that can expand horizons both physically and spiritually: travel, changing places, getting an education or the cycle of social life.

Adventurous!

The ability to act boldly and sometimes unpredictably, relying not only on calculation, but also on luck. Contagious lightness, courage, activity and cheerfulness. The person described by the Tenth Arcanum usually hits the mark. His life looks rich and interesting, “from ship to ball.” He seems to be Fortune's favorite, the darling of fate.

When talking about Fate, the word “karma” usually comes to mind. And with this word, most often, in turn, the word “task” is said next to it - a karmic task, destiny.

The Wheel of Fortune can speak of a person who has realized his life task, recognized the existence of one, or at least passionately longs to find it. According to the Wheel of Fortune, a person realizes that he is a servant of Fate, a tributary of karma, everything that happens in his life is incomprehensible, but not accidental. He is led by the hand of fate and in his life everything has its time. He understands the need for each new test in order to reach a new spiritual level and is ready to accept his Fate and his Path with gratitude. In a clear manifestation, this is truly a chosen one who does not belong to himself. He needs to fulfill his task, and his life on earth is scheduled by the sky by the hour (and a person’s sense of time, sense of the moment, as a rule, is also excellent). At the same time, he himself may consider himself terribly unpredictable and free, while a spiritually discerning eye can see that a person has zero degrees of freedom. The Wheel of Fortune also emphasizes loyalty to yourself, your calling, your true self.

The famous Hayo Banzhaf generally believes that this Arcanum should be called “Ultimate Task” or “Life Goal”, and its appearance in the layout clearly indicates that it is time to carry out our plans.

Among the disadvantages of the personal state described by the Wheel of Fortune is a tendency to cyclothmia (a creative and active state is periodically replaced by recession and depression, regardless of the will and plans of a person), some superficiality in relationships (“out of sight, out of mind”), and the same “maybe”, on which Russia “has been standing for centuries - no sound... no move... no move!” People around him perceive him as a natural phenomenon, not fully animated and poorly predictable.

A stage in spiritual development when a person must realize the eternity of change, formation and destruction, understand that the paths of fate are inscrutable and balance can only be found within oneself, following the example of the Stoics. A person's power is not unlimited; he can be powerless before fate. The tenth Arcanum symbolizes Fate, and that says it all.

“Weigh the fates.”

Man proposes, but God disposes. Providence is present and acts in the environment of events and actions as a subtle, all-pervading spirit. The Wheel of Fortune in the layout reminds that there are things in life that no one can influence, things that no one has control over. It rolls inexorably forward, under its own power, and there is no point in resisting the passage of time and fate. Things change, even if the change is unwelcome.

Everything has its time and every new test is necessary for growth and self-realization. Everything consists of cycles and all cycles are necessary for development, even unpleasant ones, moreover, each form of life has its opposite, as in the circle of astrological houses. We must look at things philosophically and not get hung up on either our achievements (sooner or later there will be a decline) or our failures (an upturn will follow), for this is the Wheel. There should be no moral vertigo either at the peak or in any other phase.

In the medieval royal courts, in an era prone to gloomy philosophizing (the Dance of Death alone is worth it!), jesters performed a very edifying pantomime with a large ball in front of the monarchs: when one jester climbed up, the other ended up below. But then the ball made a new revolution, and the ascended one was cast down. The meaning of the Wheel of Fortune is obvious here. It remains to add that, like the Ten of Swords (and other Tens, in general), the Tenth Arcana especially loves “kings” - people with a big swing. This is a card of a person endowed with a mission, calling and the accompanying implementation power. He can give the impression of being Fortune's favorite, he succeeds in amazing things, the world spreads out before him like a Persian carpet... up to a certain point. Then fate turns the other way towards him, and the higher the top point was, the lower the fall seems. Examples of the destinies of many historical figures, where brilliant triumphs were followed by inglorious failures, are a reminder of the Wheel of Fortune of how everything is relative. Fortune smiled, Fortune turned away.... We must learn to accept this eternal dynamics with royal stoicism, placing ourselves at the center of the axis around which the wheel rotates. All elements of life have their pros and cons. Everything flows, so nothing should be considered fundamental. Everything is relative (and nothing is accidental).

The highest gift of the Wheel of Fortune is the awareness of the impermanence of both happiness and adversity. The number ten, signifying perfection, is at the same time the gateway to the new (the one is followed by zero), a new beginning that will follow the next revolution of the Wheel. It rotates continuously, spreading joy and sorrow, life and death. Arkan teaches that the Wheel of Life constantly rotates and a person cannot influence it. It is also important to understand that the Wheel turns for everyone, we all walk under God.

The Wheel of Fortune always emphasizes a person's powerlessness before fate, and teaches that this is for the better. If everything were only according to our will and understanding, the knots would probably never be untied at all. It is also important to understand that this lesson of our dependence and helplessness in front of it actually stimulates growth and maturation (remember the colossal experience of comprehension that Ivan Bezdomny went through after a conversation at the Patriarch’s Ponds about “Man himself rules!”).

The tenth Arcana is considered a symbol of progress, and no progress comes for free. It is the fruit of past and present efforts, learning valuable lessons, accumulating knowledge and wisdom. Improving yourself and everything around you is a laudable activity, but not easy. According to Valentin Tomberg, the Tenth Arcanum represents the entire set of ideas related to the problems of Evolution and Involution, the Fall and Reintegration. This stage in development poses the task of Spiritual Alchemy, the achievement of internal unity (symbolized by the axis of the Wheel), through the transmutation of base instincts into their bright original prototypes (Tetramorph on the map, “four beasts of the Apocalypse”). Moreover, this can be achieved by strictly observing the four hermetic rules: Know, Dare, Desire and Silence, corresponding to the four magical virtues (Knowledge, Courage, Will, Silence).

This is one of the "apocalyptic cards" which depicts four mystical beings, the Great Axes of the Mystical Marriage. These four mystical creatures - Taurus, Leo, Eagle (Scorpio) and Man (Aquarius) correspond to the fixed or motionless cross of the Zodiac, reminding us that spiritual reality is unchanging and eternal despite all the radical turns and petty vanity of external life. It is eternal and cannot disappear. On top, on the wheel, symbolizing the perfect balance of Universal Wisdom, sits the Sphinx with the sword of Justice. The Sphinx symbolizes a person’s desire to solve the riddle of his destiny, and if a person manages to solve this riddle of the Sphinx (about the cycle of life and death), then good luck accompanies him for some time and he comprehends his path. But a person is not objective and righteous enough, so he cannot stay on top of the wheel all his life. Therefore, the advice of the Tenth Arcana on a spiritual level: strive for the center of the wheel, for its only fixed point - your own “I”. Stop and watch. In your inner world, you will find answers to all the questions that interest you, looking at your problems through the eye of an outside observer and without trying to interfere with the course of events.

Here I would like to remember one excellent doctor who repeatedly gave amazing advice to a sufferer: “Observe.” The advice used to drive others crazy, but it turned out to be truly invaluable both psychologically and from the point of view of further treatment.

As for the astrological analysis of the Arcana, the planet Jupiter is mythologically correlated with the secondary creator of the world, with the Bethlehem star that preceded the birth of Christ, and with the very name Yeshua, in the cabalistic-digital representation calculated as Kaph - Jupiter.

The essence is revealed by myths about gods dying and rising again, symbolizing the eternity of renewal and rebirth of nature. The eight axes of the Wheel of Fortune are associated with the traditional octal division of the year. It includes the first degrees of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) and the middle degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius). The beginning of the cardinal signs is the Spring Equinox (Ostara, Easter, Easter), the Summer Solstice (Lita, Līgo-Jāņi, the night of Ivan Kupala, that is, the Nativity of John the Baptist), the Autumn Equinox (Modron, Michaelmas, Archangel Michael) and the Winter Solstice (Yule, “Spoke of the Wheel”, Midnight of the Year, Christmas). The middle of the fixed signs set Beltane (Walpurgis Night, the Time of Hern, now Labor Day... in general, this was the day of labor, only quite specific), Lughnasad (the Time of Harvest, the sun god Lug, the prophet Elijah on a chariot of fire), Samhain (now known as Halloween, All Hallows' Eve, all hallow eve, time of the spirits, veļu laiks) and Imbolc (the holiday of the fire goddess Brigid, Brid, now falling on Candlemas).

All natural cycles contain the idea of the Wheel of Rebirth. This image is present in almost all cultures. It is known, for example, as the Wheel of Samsara, the movement of the soul from life to life and the spiral evolution of consciousness. The Wheel of Fortune is used to work with the memory of past lives, practices related to a person’s karmic heritage, Alchemy of the Soul. The experience of the Wheel of Fortune has the supernatural power of direct revelation; it is difficult to dislodge this information from consciousness.

In the Waite deck, the Wheel of Fortune features the letters T-A-R-O. The famous 20th century occultist Paul Foster Case produced as many as four anagrams, resulting in the phrase "Rota Taro Orat Tora Ator", roughly translated as "The Tarot Wheel speaks of the laws of life." And there is definitely some truth in this.

There is a feeling that there is no power to resolve these issues, but usually things go uphill, some new opportunities arise.

Prosperity, improvement, success due to circumstances that may seem like pure luck. Possibility of unexpected winnings.

Change of residence, relocation.

Currently, a person feels that everything in life remains the same and he is unable to change anything, be it a not very satisfactory relationship or life without a partner. But changes are coming along the Wheel of Fortune, personal life promises to improve, and there is no need to make any special efforts to find the luck foreshadowed by this card.

Everything will happen on its own, when the time is right, and simply because the questioner will be in the right place at the right time. An important aspect of this card is a person’s loyalty to himself. In this case, happiness will find him, in any case, exactly what is most important will happen to him. As they say, “be strong, but here they won’t change you.”

Another important aspect of the card is the refusal of influence and control, trust in the course of events. This applies to both single people and those who would like to somehow change their existing relationship. The Wheel of Fortune teaches that in any close relationship there is a certain natural cycle, times of rapturous intimacy are replaced by periods of some alienation and emotional decline, and there is no need to make a tragedy out of this and try to take control of it. The wave has gone, the wave will come. Walk on the sand holding hands. Everything will return to normal.

Along the Wheel of Fortune there are so-called “karmic relationships” or relationships according to which one can say “This is fate!” (which does not at all guarantee cloudless happiness and does not exclude a very dramatic outcome). In this case, the person does not feel “free” (that is, he has absolutely no control over his feelings); in fact, he is entrusted with a task that cannot be avoided, because this person is truly his destiny. The connection becomes “fatal” - although it is clear that the relationship is neither easy nor understandable, the attraction is supernatural, there is no choice and there is nowhere to retreat. A person cannot oppose anything to this force - he can only follow it. Of course, such meetings turn out to be inevitable.

You can’t escape your happiness here, because synchronicity, coincidence, chance and fate work here at full capacity. The Wheel of Fortune teaches that in life there are things that “just happen”, people find themselves in the right place at the right time, and “it just happened”, there were other plans. But you most likely won’t be able to control anything in this relationship. The fact that fate itself prepared them does not mean that it necessarily laid a straw. Outbursts of passion, breaks - everything will happen incomprehensibly, it will seem to a person that he is being carried along like a chip in a stream.

It is not always common for a person to understand what is good for him and what is not. Sometimes he suffers from the fact that something did not turn out the way he imagined it. But in fact, what happens to him is a gift of fate and optimally corresponds to the deep foundations of his being and the prevailing conditions of development. The qualitative implementation of the Wheel of Fortune depends on the real karmic baggage of a particular person. But in general, this Arcanum foreshadows the acquisition of a suitable partner and the happy development of relationships. Sometimes - a repetition of some scenario, a return to normal (both within one life and through incarnations). In this case, the Wheel of Fortune makes it possible to finally realize the stereotypes of one’s behavior in relationships with others, to catch some recurring gestalts, to understand the causes of mistakes, the origins of pain, and the nature of barriers. This is a precious gift. It is thanks to him that a person sometimes manages to “change his fate,” correct something, do it differently. And fate - it sees everything, hears everything.

On the Wheel of Fortune there are all sorts of “jumping into the last carriage” - marriage, which a person has been avoiding for a long time, having offspring in his declining reproductive years, and other steps of this kind.

As a rule, quite good health (especially when surrounded by favorable cards), but with elements of cyclothymia (alternating periods of high and low energy, mood swings).

There may also be a dependence on some other cycles. For example, the cycle of the disease (exacerbations, remissions, relapses, the so-called “recurrence”, recurrence, which happens both in the case of some infections and mental illnesses). Seasonal allergies.

Seasonal affective disorder (usually still understood as depression). By the way, the ancient name for depression or despondency - “noonday demon” - clearly indicates a reference to time. The name originated in the Asia Minor region, where traditionally the hottest midday hours are the heaviest. It is interesting that in our latitudes there are people who have a hard time psychologically enduring the “noon of the year” - July and August.

The Wheel of Fortune is also related to another well-known cycle - the female one, describing the phenomena associated with it (PMS, delays, weight fluctuations, etc.).

The Wheel of Fortune, no matter how you slice it, remains a round Wheel. At the same time, there is a sea of options for its interpretation in this position.

There is an opinion that if in the upright position it says: “Fate!”, then in the inverted position it is more likely: “Not fate!” The plans will not come true due to circumstances that are still insurmountable; The time has not come to take on this matter; failures, obstacles, delays, bad luck, and “evil fate” await. Perhaps some old problems will resurface!

Apparently, in the case of an inverted Wheel of Fortune, luck is ready to turn away from the questioner and he should at least be more careful and not count on pure luck - it may not be enough.

Sometimes the card says that changes will have to wait, they will happen, but the moment for them has not come (again, “not kairos”, not a moment, as in the case of the inverted Eight of Wands). Delay caused by unexpected events.
Other authors talk specifically about the necessity of change, heralded by the inverted Wheel of Fortune: if there is now a “dark streak,” it means that everything will soon turn out for the better, but a light streak means that the situation will inevitably worsen, the streak of good fortune will end.
In some cases, the card means resistance to changes that are inevitable anyway, or inappropriate actions in relation to unexpected events. Failure to realize emerging opportunities.

There are authors who believe that an inverted card does not change the meaning, but in material terms indicates profit and growth.
Others point out that the unpredictability of the situation and the degree of risk are increasing sharply.

It is believed that the Figure Arcana near the Wheel of Fortune indicate people who will bring good luck.

With the Jester - an explosive combination, foreshadowing imminent changes. It is better to refrain from gambling, entering into a long-term partnership, including marriage (many more unforeseen factors will emerge).

With the Empress - pregnancy.

With the Chariot - a trip! This meaning will appear almost inevitably.

With the Tower - major changes are imminent, which will come as a complete surprise to the questioner

With the Four of Wands - favorable changes

With the Six of Wands, Eight of Wands - rapid movement, rapid development.

With the Two of Swords - being at a dead end, unable to see the way out offered by fate.

With the Four of Swords - the card is considered to largely block the action of the Wheel of Fortune with its resting energy.

With the Eight of Swords - oddly enough, too, the speed of action and change, the card is considered to enhance the action.

With the Four of Pentacles - blocking change, standing still.

With the Seven of Pentacles - a thorough analysis of the situation before changing direction, lack of adventurism.

Clotho, Lachesis and Atropa, who control the thread of human life.

Myth of Oedipus

Rituals of seasonal magic.

Kipling's famous poem:

When, in that terrible hour, where everyone will lose their minds,
You will be the ruler over yourself,
When everyone doubts you alone,
But you are the only one who will believe in yourself,
When your dream is humbled by power,
and your thought will be like a sword in your hands,
and whatever comes, misfortune or happiness,
you will still meet everything with a smile on your lips,
When will you be able to endure years of toil and sweat?
bet, lose and silently walk away,
and just get back to work first,
without wasting unnecessary words about the chosen path,
Be able to force the heart, nerves, body
serve you when in your chest
Everything has been empty for a long time, everything has burned down,
and only the will says: “Go!”
Fill every minute with meaning
The elusive running of hours and days,
Know that the world is now yours. And everything that is contained in it.
And moreover, now you are a Human.
