2 slices of white bread,
½ cup milk,
2 tomatoes

Soak the bread in milk, then add it to the minced meat and knead well. Cut tomatoes and onions into slices. Leave to rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Cut the onion into small cubes, grate the peeled apple on a coarse grater. Combine minced meat, onion, apple, mustard and thyme, pour in half the amount of wine and cognac. Roll out ¾ of the dough into a layer and place in a greased tall pan so that the edges of the dough hang over the sides. Place the filling, fold the edges of the dough and, after rolling out the remaining dough, cover the pie. Pinch the edges. Make a hole in the center for steam to escape. Brush the pie with egg and place in a preheated oven at 200ºC for 30 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 180ºC and bake the pie for another 1.5 hours.
